We had a lovely stay with no issues. No signs of a strike (10/18/24) so recent reviews need not scare you off. Views are great staff is helpful. Especially the girl at the pool. She was accommodating for me and my daughter, I tried to thank her but couldn’t find her to see her name tag to shout out on here. Amenities are fine, decor is fine, and room was adequate (small, but that’s common in bigger cities). Only minus a star for no benefits at all booking through Amex fine hotels. Huge difference than the Fairmont chateau Frontenac I’m staying in now that gave room upgrade, hotel credit, and late checkout. Even detailed the benefits to us in a letter. This was also probably effected from the recent strike. But that’s a large portion of where/why I book my hotels. The beds were not the comfiest would be the only complaint but that’s hit or miss at hotels as well. Would recommend staying here as the tiled indoor pool is gorgeous and the location is unbeatable if traveling with luggage with via rail to other parts of Canada. Will repeat when taking more trains from Montréal.

Strikes suck

We checked in the second October 2024. The strike was still on. The room was very nice, but when after a long day of traveling, the hotel restaurants were closed! Across the bridge in the terminal we were able to find a pizza restaurant and got a bite. I returned to room and drank some alcohol from the room refrigerator. No problem, except when received the bill! Come on, $25.00 + for 2 oz of booze. Give me a break! At least, there should have been a discounted room price and a definite lowering of room booze.

This Hotel was exceptionally good,the room on the 12th floor was amazing and big plus he bathroom was lovely,the view was amazing in the evening as well as the day, the bed was comfortable,l have nothing bad to say about this hotel,lovely hotel to stay.

Subject: Complaint Regarding Unpleasant Stay at Fairmont Queen Elizabeth, Montreal Dear Fairmont Customer Service, I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the experience my fiancée and I had during our stay at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal from July 26th to July 28th. Unfortunately, the visit fell far short of the standards we expected from a Fairmont property. Upon arrival, we were greeted by individuals whose roles were unclear, as they were dressed in casual sportswear and tank tops, making it difficult to determine if they were hotel staff. Furthermore, we were denied access to hotel amenities, including the restaurants and pool, which significantly impacted our stay. Adding to the frustration, we were unable to rest due to constant noise from protests and large crowds outside the hotel, making it extremely difficult to enter or leave the premises. This chaos ultimately prevented us from securing a taxi to the airport, further complicating our departure. We chose this hotel expecting a high-quality experience that aligns with Fairmont's reputation. However, we were left not only disappointed but also inconvenienced and distressed. Despite all these issues, the hotel management has yet to reach out or take any action to address our concerns and provide a meaningful solution for the situation. We sincerely hope that Fairmont will consider this matter and find an appropriate way to repair the inconvenience and discomfort we faced during our stay, ensuring that our next experience at a Fairmont property meets the brand’s standards. Visit totally ruined by Demonstrators/strikers and no facilities in the hotel being open

Our tour of Iconic Fairmont Hotels of Eastern Canada concluded in Montreal but our experience was totally ruined by the strikers protesting on the main entrances to the hotel and the fact that absolutely everything in the hotel was closed. The noise from the protesters was horrendous and having push through the mob to access the hotel was very unpleasant and intimidating. Only one entrance was available at the back of the hotel which was being taken over by the shuttle buses for the President’s cup golf which was also being hosted in the hotel. It made it extremely difficult when we arrived at the hotel with all our luggage and again when departing because there was nowhere for our transfer chauffeur to pull in to collect us. Why all the entrances to the hotel were also closed I’ve no idea and being told it was for security purposes didn’t make sense. The only positive was we were given an upgrade to a nice suite and allowed to keep it for a late check out so we did have somewhere to relax whilst awaiting our departure. We did appreciate this but generally this was a really awful experience and we should have been warned about this before our arrival so that we could have made alternative arrangements
