The Fairmont is a standout in the city and, I think, along with the JW make up the only 4/5 star hotels. Having visiting both, the Fairmont was much more relaxing and a nice place to spend a few days. The grounds are immaculate and the feel of the hotel is very old world castle with a laid back atmosphere. There is nice dining and bar options on site and there is a pub or two about 3 blocks away. Edmonton downtown seemed much quieter than we were expecting, but there were a few places nearby and a walk to the hockey game was easy. The deluxe river view room was a nice layout and had everything you'd expect for the price point. The service was incredible, leave for 5 minutes and the room was made up and clean. Just super attention to detail and timing. Only issue is there is construction starting around 9am on the facade and grounds outside of the river view rooms portion so it does get a little loud. I imagine much louder on the lower floors. May want a city view room for the time being, which doesn't face the noise.

Wir verbrachten drei Nächte in diesem wunderschönen , altehrwürdigen , aber top renoviertem Hotel und hatten eine Suite. Das Fairmont Mc Donald liegt etwa 50 m hoch über dem North Saskatchewan River am Rande der Innenstadt Edmontons und bietet nicht nur ein herrliches Ambiente , sondern auch eine wunderschöne Aussicht über das Flußtal , den man von dem herrlichen Blumengarten mit Bistro und Restaurant und Bar auch wirklich genießen kann. Das Restaurant Harvest bietet wunderbares Essen ( Bison Spezialitäten , aber auch Top Seafood) und war bei uns jeden Abend Pflicht ! Unsere Suite war relativ klein und das Schlafzimmer besaß kein eigenes Fenster . Ansonsten aber alles auf dem neuesten Stand und sehr gemütlich. Schöner Ausblick. Sehr nettes , hilfsbereites und freundliches Personal ! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder. Das Hotel bietet einen Valet Park Service an , den man nutzen sollte.

Gutes Hotel mit schönen großen Zimmern und einem besonderen Flair. Einziger Schwachpunkt war das Personal im Restaurant. Der Service hätte besser sein können. Dafür war das Essen aber gut. Somit war der gesamte Aufenthalt doch sehr angenehm.

O hotel é muito bem localizado, tem uma Vista linda e esta sendo reformado. Os quartos são espaçosos e as amenities são ótimas. Um pouco barulhento , vindo da cidade e do corredor. A piscina é boa mas infelizmente com muitas crianças e barulho. Delicioso café da manhã, porém caro.
