One night on our way to SFO from wine country. Nice service and pleasant although small room. Only annoying thing is the $50 resort fee! We didn’t use anything like the gym or pool. Would be nice if you got a rebate if you don’t check into one of the facilities.

I liked everything about the Claremont Hotel, Clb & Spa. From the staff at the front desk, to my room, to the daily maid service, to the facilities. All was top notch. All the staff I interacted with was terrific. The only issue I had was in the small bar off the lobby who both times was unable to make a cocktail (it was a regular cocktail, not special), as he didn't have the experience and the normal bartender who manned that station was not there during our visit in the late afternoon. One other event occurred in the same bar when we tried to get the bartender's attention earlier in the week and he just kept chatting to the waiter and both the bartender & waiter were paying no attention. This happened a couple of times.

Pros: The view is great; the location is great; staff is friendly and courteous. The gym and locker room amenities are impressive. Nice pickleball court. Complementary filtered water stations throughout the hotel. Lots of tennis court but all filled in the morning. Friendly kids club. Cons: The room with a view (costs ~$700/night) wasn't ready 2 hours past check-in time; Front desk gave a courtesy dining credit but failed to mention it to us until we asked for compensation; After checking in we found the AC broken (no cool air blowing out). Lots of wedding guests during the night we stayed, and there were drunk people walking past hallways talking loudly in the middle of the night. Noise insulation is not quite there in all directions: we can hear loud AC machines humming right outside our window (4th FL), and upstairs people making loud noises at 3am. Got very little sleep as a result. So the overall experience is very mixed - given the price tag the expectation is higher, too. The hotel half failed to deliver the value. I'd think twice before coming back again.

Very nice classy, elegant hotel. Beautiful grounds. Very nice pool and gym. The restaurant is very very nice. Staff is wonderful. Easy walking distance into Berkeley. Highly recommended for couples and especially families. The historic vibe of the hotel is very special.

The guest rooms were so spacious! I loved the fresh water bottles daily the they put in our rooms, huge hallways to get through with our luggage, and gorgeous views. It was a bummer that the construction was going on daily, a few of our guests had to change rooms, but the staff was so accommodating and helpful that it didn't make a difference. The staff at the hotel was so friendly, and helpful, and really made each and every guest feel special! Loved the area outside the front door of the hotel. We'd have wine while sitting outside by the fire lit tables and couches, overlooking the bay. Some of our guests played corn hole on the lawn, while others just relaxed. We chose the Lobby Lounge bar space for our rehearsal dinner. It was perfect for our event, with the blue room off to the side to host our food, and we had the entire lounge for a welcome cocktail event, which we invited all the guests from the wedding. It was a semi-private event so the Bride & Groom could say hi to all of their guests before such a busy, special day! Food was great, well planned out by our event coordinator Kishara! Our guests had a fantastic time! And at night when the sun went down, we had a picture perfect view of the bay all lit up! Gorgeous!
