This was my first time ever staying at the Fairmont Royal York, and while the location is ideal, this was by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. When I first was checking it, it was a headache because they had me staying in a room with two double beds when I booked a King room. This isn't a huge deal, but it was a lot of back and forth before it was resolved. The walls are extremely paper thin, and when I tell you that you can hear everything, you can seriously hear EVERYTHING that is going on around you (in other rooms & the hallway). I am typically a heavy sleeper, and this was the first time that I needed white noise to sleep because of the constant noise. Finally, after my first night, I got a message from the hotel saying that I need to change rooms. I then moved rooms and I was informed that it was because they fould a bug in my room. I tried to get more information, but they didn't provide and the only form of compensation that I was offered was a free laundry service. Ultimately, for a 5 star hotel, all I got was a huge headache, lack of sleep, and potentially bed bugs. I am praying that my company doesn't send me to this location again because it isn't worth it at all.

Stayed here last weekend for 3 nights from the UK. Chose this hotel due to it being part of the Fairmont chain. You know with Fairmont that you will get excellent service in a luxury, historic hotel. I contacted the hotel prior to our day to inform them it was my birthday and received a reply from the lovely Sylvia advising that we would get a room upgrade etc with their compliments. Although this didn’t happen because of a system change over, once it was raised with the hotel it was quickly sorted and we were reassigned a luxury king room and received a bottle of bubbly for the inconvenience. Any queries, problems etc and Sylvia was immediately on hand to help and to sort them out. She was an absolute star and a credit to the hotel. Although we didn’t eat in the hotel, we used a couple of the bars whilst we were there. The service was impeccable. The upgraded room was larger and far better than the original room we were assigned and was on the 11th floor so we had more of the view. We happened to be lucky enough to experience the snowstorm whilst we were there and I can’t think of a better and more luxurious place to stay whilst enjoying the white stuff.

Just returned after a week at the Fairmont Royal York, which was our 2nd stay at this amazing hotel. We stayed in the Fairmont gold category & the service provided was excellent. The professional manner, warmth & helpfulness of all staff makes this hotel stand out from the rest. Temo (Fairmont Gold manager ) was the most accommodating guy & went above & beyond to ensure our stay was beyond our expectations. He provided us with a personal tour of our outstanding room & this level of service continued to our departure. Not only would I highly recommend the Fairmont for its impeccable service, location, dining/bar options & facilities. I will return again & again. A special mention for Mohammed (bellboy) who helped us upon our arrival with luggage & advice. Also Jack (bellboy) who set us on our departure & finally Richard from London with his happy & helpful nature. Don’t just visit the Fairmont, expect to be thoroughly spoilt by its service. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🇨🇦❤️
