Le Grand Hotel is perfectly located for a tour of Bayonne near busy streets to shop and restaurants on a tree lined street. As in all European hotels, it was in an old building that the hotel owner brought and kept its unique style. The walls are fairly thin so one might hear the plumbing from other rooms but that's a minor inconvenience. The staff, both at the front desk and housekeeping were friendly and more than helpful.

I stayed as part of a large group of rugby supporters over the weekend of 18th Jan. As the name suggests, the hotel is central to all that Bayonne has to offer located in a quiet street. The room was spacious as was the bathroom. We arrived late on the first night but thankfully the bar was kept open - a rarity these days. Couldn’t really fault anything about it. Stupidly I left an item of clothing behind but the hotel reception has been most helpful and are returning it to my U.K. address. Would highly recommend.

Great city stop before crossing into Spain.

Our last overnight stay before we crossed into Spain was at the Mercure Grand Central hotel Bayonne. Secure parking as available close by and the hotel itself is on a presdestian Street that cars have access to for load or unload. The reception was ever so helpful and we got the car unloaded before I drove it to the secure parking. The receptionist also made us a dinner reservation at the bodega Chez Gilles. Great hotel room very clean and spacious. As well as enjoying the town we had an excellent dinner and the following morning a very good breakfast before we left the hotel. Would we come here again, most certainly.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here on a Sunday evening at the end of July. Great central location just over the bridge from the train station. Staff were extremely helpful, providing recommendations for dinner as well as printing out bus tickets for us! We were both also extremely impressed with the pricing. Would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend!

Great location, good size room , comfy bed. We stayed here two nights , the location is perfect to explore Bayonne and 20 min walk to the train station. The bathroom wasn’t the “greatest cleaning”, when we arrived , apart of that our experience in the hotel was good. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby.
