Cold rooms & expensive drinks. Our room was very cold even with the heating turned up high. The sheets & quilt cover was very cold to the touch. When ordering drinks at the bar we were charged £1.80 on top of the price for a service charge. We refused to pay this charge even though they tried to keep charging it every time we went to the bar. I would not recommend this hotel.

I am currently staying at the Mercure Haydock Park Hotel for a couple of nights, and the experience has been very disappointing. The bed is extremely uncomfortable, the pillows are worn out, and the TV in the room is not working. The bathroom is in poor condition, with visible rust in the bathtub, which raises concerns about maintenance and cleanliness. These issues fall well below the standard expected from a Mercure brand . Based on my experience so far, I would not recommend this property, as there are far better alternatives available at a similar price.

Lovely hotel but room needed a refurb

Stayed with a friend, suite was lovely but all except the bathroom really needed a refurbishment as it is looking very tired.

Had a lovely afternoon tea at the hotel. I forgot to tell them I don’t eat butter and they swapped my sandwiches with no bother. Didn’t use the pool but might do next time we book

we have stayed here during our Xmas period as part of a big family group and taken part on the Xmas lunch carvery, great atmosphere, attentive staff and great food
