After only 9 months, our return visit left us wondering if this really was the same place. At great expense, we booked 2 rooms plus club access and valet parking. Upon arrival, we sat in our car, waiting for a valet to appear. After several minutes we realised that we would have to attend to our owm bags and moved everything inside. At check-in, I was told that they would now take care of the car for me!!! At no time during our stay did we see a valet outside - it appeared that it was now an "indoor" valet operation and everyone was unloading their own bags and bringing them into the lobby. Arriving in our room I expected our arrival drink that a silver Accor member normally receives but alas, like the valet service, that was non-existent. Shortly after check-in we went to the club and expecting the same service from 9 months ago, we were shocked to discover that everything was SO different. The presentation, food and level of service had gone down the drain and we were left wondering why anyone would actually pay for this. Of course, each ROOM is charged the same amount, regardless of the number of guests so that made things even more frustrating when 1 room had only 1 guest and tet paid the same price as for 2 guests! It would also be a good idea to have a price for those who don't partake of alcohol as our money is also subsidising all the drinkers! We went back to the club for evening canapes and then breakfast and afternoon both days and confirmed that the present level of "service" was now the new "norm". A terrible disappointment and now the Sofitel is no better than other local hotels and their meagre offerings of club facilities - long gone are the wonderful high tea afternoons and breakfast spreads and we will also now be "long gone"! The issue with the rooms was also ridiculous - both rooms had no light working above the dining/work table. After making 4 separate calls about the chandeliers in our 2 rooms, I got the story that they were waiting for the arrival of parts from China. Several hours after, I received a call from a manager who apologised and then gave me yet another version of the story - this time - the parts were already on site but the electrician wasn't working until the following day! You have lost us as guests as we can get better value for money and the same "service" levels even at the InterContinental. Adieu!

We love this place. Everyone is a delight to deal with. The restaurant food is very high quality, as is the wine list too. We’ve needed to be in Adelaide a few times over the past 3 months- coming back for a 4th visit on Thursday 12/12 for 4 nights. See you all again soon Wendy & John

Check in date: 22/11/24 booked a luxury room with club millesime room cost around $500+ for 1 night. Arrived at the hotel around almost 3 pm. Room was not ready until almost 6 pm. They made us wait that long, luckily I purchased the room with lounge access so we stayed there until room was ready. Had to ask 3x to double check if the room was ready, even the staff in the club was shocked that we were still waiting at around 5:30, he had to literally go down to reception to follow it up. Both me and my partner were tired and just want to rest prior to our anniversary dinner at 6 but couldn't even do that. On arrival to the room, the room was not even clean (at least not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel). I thought at least they would have a welcoming gift for making us wait that long (I am also a accor gold member) as we usually would get a welcoming gift even a letter but nothing at all which we don't mind. Tried the T.V and the remote wasn't even working properly which was so annoying. Staffs at the restaurant and lounge was all so lovely, the manager gave as free bubbles when he heard about us waiting for 2 hrs to check in when we had our dinner. The next day, I asked for a late check out, thought they might even give us a later check out given that I told them we waited so long to get in our room. But the best they could do was 12:30. We didn't even bother and just left around 10:30. Overall, I was not satisfied with our stay. The service could be so much better for its price. You could definitely get better service somewhere else for so much cheaper.

While I'm glad you had access to Club Millesime during the wait and that the team there tried to assist, it's clear we could have handled the situation more proactively. The condition of the room is disappointing to hear and certainly not the level of quality or service we strive for. Your feedback regarding the lack of a welcome gesture, especially as an Accor Gold member, is also noted - we deeply value our loyal guests and regret that this recognition was overlooked. I appreciate your kind words about our Garcon Bleu and Club Millesime ambassadors, however it is clear that overall we missed the mark in delivering a seamless and enjoyable experience from start to finish. Your comments have been shared with our management team for review. I hope we'll have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide the level of service you rightfully expect from Sofitel Adelaide.

The whole process of checking-in and then checking out was seamless and quick. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Great central location. Beautiful views of the city. Excellent buffet breakfast. We stayed for five nights and had no problems during our stay.

We arrived a noon, and hoped for a room that was ready. Front desk person checked us in and said a room would be ready shorty. He asked us for our number and he would text when ready. 2.5 hours later after roaming Adelaide we checked at the front desk. Waited inline to speak to the same person, asked about our room and we got “oh sorry” and were handed our card. Room was well appointed and clean. Don’t waste your money on the Club access. Our morning experience was very disappointing, the lounge was empty. We order a poached egg on toast from the menu and it took over 30 minutes. While waited we had some very unripe fruit. Our experience; the hotel is very nice, however the service was not great.
