A great-value hotel in a good location

This was the hotel we chose for a week's stay in Ajaccio. It's well-located, very close to the station and ferry port and a 15-minute taxi to the airport. The main sights of Ajaccio are about a 10-15 minute walk away, with lots of coffee shops and eateries on that journey. Ibis Styles hotels we've stayed in have quirky decor - this one was industrial chic with lots of bare concrete and exposed pipes and a lobby with lots of humorous references to Napoleon. Our room and ensuite were modern and spacious; it would have been nice to have had a room facing the bay but at the price we paid, we can't complain! For the superb view, we just had to pop up to the rooftop swimming pool and patio. Breakfasts were continental-style with good choice, lovely breads and great freshly-squeezed orange juice from a weird juicer. Last, but not least, the hotel staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful - many thanks to them.

Wonderful family stay

Went with 3 kids (2 rooms) and had a wonderful experience. Modern, clean hotel, spacious rooms, very central with a view of the harbour, tasty breakfast with local products, beautiful rooftop pool with baby pool and underwater window with nice views. Staff is very friendly and helpful, they recommended Plage d'Argent and restaurants in the hotel area. We were able to eat out take away dinner in the hotel lobby, using a microwave oven and the tables. Play area and board games, books and journals in the cozy lobby.

We stayed here a week during the second half of a holiday in Corsica. Ajaccio is a good base for visiting parts of Corse-du-Sud. The location isn't in the nicest part of town and there is quite a long walk to get to the lively part where the better restaurants and nicer sea views are to be found. The best aspects of this hotel are the room, which was huge with spare beds and plenty of storage. Toiletries are as basic as can be [plastics policy], and we had to scout around for coat hangers. The bed was very good. Parking is free and convenient and there are always spaces in the car park. This is a chain, and as such you get a chain style buffet breakfast. The same wide choice of mediocre items every day with no variation. Coffee from a machine which was below par - if you want decent coffee you have to pay at the bar (we did) which felt like bad value. Having to use a tray for breakfast creates a slight prison-like atmosphere. Staff are always on hand and friendly enough. Some a little more clued in than others it's fair to say. Overall a good choice and reasonable value.
