Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort 4 نجوم

We had a wonderful stay at Mercure Maldives Kooddoo in an over-water sunset pool villa. Reading reviews, it seems everyone thinks their villa was “the best”—and we felt the same way! Ours, Villa 310, was the first sunset pool villa to the right, giving us the shortest walk to dining and the main areas while still enjoying top-tier accommodations. I understand why some people liked the villas at the end to the left where they were right on the reef--probably great sea life viewing–but we snorkeled daily from our back porch on the same reef and saw plenty of sea life from our back porch. The villa was spotless, in excellent condition, and the outdoor shower was heaven. After snorkeling, we’d hop in the pool, then take a hot, high-pressure rain shower outdoors in the sun—pure bliss. Arrival and check-in were unbelievably easy. The airport is a few minutes away by golf cart, and we were checked in while riding around getting a quick tour from Youcef, who helped us throughout our stay. Our luggage was delivered to our room, and we were dropped at Alita for lunch. Food at the Alita buffet was varied and tasty. As someone who has lived in Paris, I was especially impressed by the croissants and pain au chocolat—excellent quality. We had dinner at Vista three times. The menu is limited but well executed, and the atmosphere feels like a special night out. Drinks were good, and we especially liked the local ingredient cocktails. Other than dining, there wasn't a lot of activity or entertainment at the resort, which was just the way we wanted it. A DJ spins a few tunes at the bar and that's about it. We visited in mid-November and the weather was perfect: blue skies, no daytime rain, and the resort never felt full. There were always chairs available everywhere except Vista during prime dinner hours (reservations required). The vibe was relaxed and exactly what wanted. Our only excursion was a dive at Shark Point, and it was the one disappointment. Visibility was poor, coral largely dead or monochrome, and sea life limited that day. A billing gouge at the end (due to calling this perfectly ordinary resort dive a "shark dive" with no forewarning whatsoever) was also annoying, but resolved by the resort. The resort staff were really great: Friendly, remembered our preferences, attentive. Youcef worked to make our stay pleasant and easy. Kseniia was terrific in listening to my concerns about the dive and resolving the issue I had despite the dive manager’s objections. She turned what was shaping up to be an unpleasant end to a great stay into yet another positive experience. Many thanks to her and to Youcef! Departure was as smooth as arrival. Staff collected our luggage, checked us in, brought back our tickets, and invited us to continue enjoying the resort until we left. We were even offered spa showers if we wanted to swim. When it was time to go, we were driven to the airport and escorted until we passed security. We were on the golf cart 14 minutes prior to boarding time and were through security at a leisurely pace. We travel a lot and that was the easiest non-private flight I’ve ever had! For snorkelers: You will see sharks. We spotted at least one every time we snorkeled off our porch—mostly blacktips just passing by. I did have a surprise close-up with a large nurse shark while snorkeling alone, and we later saw another together. You can also spot baby sharks and small fish from the over-water walkways. Arrival tip: We spent two nights in Malé (at Summer Beach Maldives) before heading to Kooddoo. We highly recommend doing this if you can. It let us recover from long flights, enjoy Malé, and take an earlier domestic flight stress-free. It absolutely helped us start our resort stay fully rested and ready to enjoy it.

From the moment I arrived till I left it was a really wonderful and very relaxing experience for me. Both check in and check out from the resort was seamless and so nicely done by the staff. A big thanks to all the staff who looked after me during my stay. Khan and Yamin as the breakfast chef in the restaurant and pool staff were particularly helpful and it was really great to see the managers were regularly checking to see if everything was okay during meal times. The resort was a perfect size and very calm, clean and relaxing and has great amenities including a superb pool and is an excellent choice for a solo traveler in my opinion. I would love to come back soon!

First things first, the location is stunning! Whatever villa you choose you'll always have a great view of the ocean! We were lucky to stay in 518, water pool villa and it was perfect! You have your little slice of paradise if you fancy some great snorkeling (right on top of the reef) and some private time. Otherwise the big main pool, just outside the main restaurant is incredible too and you can walk to the beach and jump into the ocean directly from there! The two restaurants offer a big variety of food, catering for every need! The restaurant team is so welcoming and kind. Madvi chats with everyone with her big smile, Poppy makes the best coffees, the whole team is attentive and present without forcing interactions! My wife unfortunately was not feeling great for the last two days and they were really kind, genuine and caring! 10/10! If you fancy a relaxing afternoon I can't recommend to try the Spa enough! Both Ida and Rena looked after us so well and their massages are a perfect mix of relaxation and rejuvenation! The diving center has many options for scuba diving, snorkeling and some excursions! We loved the sunset cruise, we were able to take amazing pictures and saw the dolphins too! Skip the local island tour, Marty, our guide was very informative but there is really not much to see. Also, make it clear with the reception, which discounts you can get and what is included in the offers as it was very vague and we discovered it only when we settled the bill on the last day. A shout out to the housekeeping team was was also on point, polite and nice! All in all we had an amazing honeymoon, as a same sex couple we felt safe and at ease, thank you everyone for making these two weeks so special! We can't wait to come back to celebrate our 10y anniversary!

Everything was perfect, from the room, to the courteous staff to the uninterrupted and beautiful view of the ocean. The water sport activities like scuba diving and snorkelling are also fun. Sadly, water motor sports were not available during our stay, which was a little disappointing. Also, tourists who prefer Indian food might have to struggle a little with the food.

The Place is perfect for Couples, Friends, Families and the Staff are very Good and Polite and ready to help everytime and timing is perfect from Landing at Male Airport to the resort. At Male Airport the resort person guided us till we reach the resort and the welcome at the resort was awasome. The food is excellent and Bar is perfect is for both Alchohol and non Alchohol lovers. The Beach villa and The over water villa are are awesome we stay 2 nights at beach villa and 1 night at over water villa with pool. At resort Mr. Ali guided us from the beginning till our departure.
