Great hotel and location - opposite Sloterdijk train station. It is 1 train ride stop away from both the airport and Amsterdam city centre. Clean and tidy hotel, friendly and helpful staff. The bed was comfy and we loved the shower in the bathroom.

Расположение прямо возле станции Слотердайк, что даёт возможность за 20 минут на общественном транспорте добраться до центра. Район тихий, спокойный и очень чистый.

Rude staff and lack of customer service

I have visited Amsterdam multiple times over the years but Highly disappointed with my experience this time, Mercure standards have certainly dropped in relation to customer service, most of the staff are rude and disrespectful, they pretend that they “ No speak English “ to avoid making your room and attending to your requests , I mean seriously, you don’t understand what toilet paper is and you work in the hospitality industry, it’s very basic English? which is very confusing because the Dutch are fluent in both English and Dutch lol but the customer service experience in at the buffet specifically was NON EXISTENT, the lady with the dark hair who was in the front desk needs to be replaced immediately and requires extensive training in customer service , her rude demeanour and unwelcoming attitude needs management review , she was dismissive and abrupt and selectively treating other guests differently, she and the other blonde lady cleaning up plates appearing of Eastern European descent need training in customer service and maybe some English language development considering they are working for an international organisation , I did notify reception on check out that I was extremely unhappy with our experience , 69 euros for 3 people at buffet breakfast, you expect a minimum a smile , the Room was not made by 2-3pm despite us being out for the room all day and when you return to rest , the cleaning staff come enter room even with the do not disturb sign on to ask if you want your room cleaned at 4-5pm , highly unprofessional, do not recommend staying at Mercure …

Disappointing service at the buffet breakfast

Travelled with family friends and was quite disappointed with the way they were treated in the breakfast buffet. The staff seemed quite distant and would stand over you as you were getting your food, and my family friends were not "white" (unlike me), and they definitely felt that they were treated differently in the buffet which was very disappointing, particularly of a hotel with the Mercure class. The room was okay, but room service would often not clean the room until we were back in the hotel in the afternoon which was also another disappointment. I would not stay here again. Location was okay, next to sloterdikj train station. Customer service needs some work, particularly in the buffet.

Great welcome at reception from Effey. I had a 5 hour delay on my flight due to snow and Effey was amazing at moving my mind on and relaxing. She helped with a number of questions I had and was always keen to say hello throughout my stay. Hotel and rooms excellent, clean, cool vibe and ambiance. Excellent breakfast and bar room with staff more than happy to help. A great stay and recommend to everyone Also great connection to Amsterdam Central.
