Optimale Lage um das UNESCO Weltkulturerbe Luang Prabang zu erkunden. Sehr aufmerksame, zurückhaltende und stets freundliche Mitarbeiter. Mrs. Tou, Restaurant, gab uns viele hilfreiche Tipps. Einen großen Dank an Mrs. Sarah, sie half uns selbst nach Dienstschluss bei der Lösung eines Problems. Wir hatten ein schönes Zimmer mit Balkon, groß genug für morgendliches Yoga, und direkter Aussicht auf den Almosengang der Mönche. Dass es ab 5:00 am etwas lauter ist ergibt sich durch die Lage an der Hauptstraße.

Ich weiss es ist ein historisches Gebäude, aber ich war doch etwas enttäuscht vom Ausbaustandard des Zimmers. Ich war im Hauptgebäude oberhalb des Restaurants untergebracht. Das Zimmer ist ringhörig und man hört Lärm aus anderen Zimmern und vor allem der Strasse. Der Boden quietscht laut beim gehen. Es hat keinen TV...so etwas erwarte ich von einem vier Sterne Hotel. Die Dusche ist in einer Badewanne mit Vorhang untergebracht, was ich etwas unhygienisch finde. Das Licht lässt sich nicht mit einem Hauptschalter auslöschen, so dass man jede Lampe einzel ausmachen muss. Am schlimmsten fand ich aber dass das Zimmer sehr düster war, man muss sogar tagsüber die ganze Zeit das Licht anhaben. Das und die dunklen Böden und Möbel sorgen für eine traurige Stimmung. Das Essen war OK...andere Restaurants in Luang Prabang sind sicher besser. Leider gibts fürs Frühstück kein Buffet sondern nur à la carte. Für ein Hotel, das sich selber als luxuriös bezeichnet ist das schon schwach.. Pluspunkt: das Personal war sehr freundlich

Das Hotel ist gut gelegen, wir hatten 1 Suite in einem Gebäude von 1903. Tolles Ambiente aber es wird nicht wirklich sauber gemacht. Durch die undichten Fenster und Ritzen dringt der Qualm und Gestank des Nachbarn ins Zimmer. Morgens werden die Abfälle inklusive Plastik verbrannt. Das Bad ist eine Zumutung, die Dusche in der Badewanne ist der kleinste und billigste Brause. Es ist dreckig, kein Haltegriff, hinter den Spiegel sollte man nicht schauen, da wurde seit 1903 nicht mehr sauber gemacht. Die absolute Härte war, das man die SNU uns nochmal in Rechnung stellen: Nepp, Betrug oder Dummheit.
