A Rollercoaster of a Stay a Flirty Staff

I came by myself for a conference down the street. I waited about 35 minutes in line to check in. I was then "upgraded".... but when I entered my room, it was already occupied. Whoops! Then it took another 20 minutes or so of waiting around to get a new room. While in the lobby waiting for the room I got a pop up survey for joining the wifi, and I submitted my displeasure at what was happening. The one I got was 2 single beds and I asked to put them together. They didn't but they did when I went out for a walk. Well from there it went up hill! I received an email from the manager apologizing, as well as welcome basket and note in my room with an apology and an invite to the lounge and free mini bar. The staff at the lounge was great at serving with smiles, printing, chatting. Sofia, Culbert, Agla, Thava.... There was one very flirty staff member in the lounge. I could tell he lays it on thick to someone all the time and is looking to offer extra services. Watch out! It was fun to bring in my partner in and tell him to back off, in a playful way. Since I didn't want the single bed, they moved me AGAIN to a different room which was a suite that had two bathrooms and a large bed. The room was good, the halls are dingy and outdated, lounge good, breakfast MEH, and front staff SLOW and mediocre. It was a decent choice for 4 night especially during Taylor Swift weekend.

We often have a few days in Singapore to break up the journey between the UK and Australia, so have stayed in quite a few hotels there. (We also lived there for some years so have been in most of them.) The Novotel was recommended by a friend and I have to admit I was sceptical, but I’m thankful I decided to trust their judgement. Around half the price we usually pay but with all of the facilities - my wife did comment it’s the fanciest Novotel she’s ever seen! Breakfast by the pool and a nightcap in the lovely gardens were especially pleasant. We were familiar with the location but not aware that there’s now an MRT station on Stevens - very handy. Also a manageable walk to Orchard Road even in the heatwave we experienced. Staff were very helpful and I especially remember the breakfast greeter’s huge smile. Breakfast was much like any other international buffet we’ve had in Singapore - loads of choice for all tastes. Unfortunately my wife arrived from Australia quite unwell and the bellboy gave great advice on nearby walk-in clinics, so a big thank you to him too. Our room was also great for the price point - not huge compared to older hotels but well-equipped. All the environmental considerations were much appreciated, especially the filtered water instead of plastic bottles (no excuse for those at all when Singapore’s water is of such a high standard). One gripe my wife would like me to mention, that she has about most hotels at all room rates - hair dryers with coiled cables that only stretch a couple of feet, and wall sockets in awkward places that result in her sitting on the floor in front of a mirror, are really frustrating!

Excellent place to stay. Jerome on the front desk is an asset to the Accor group. The convenience of the shuttle bus and the excellent restaurants on site make it easy. An is at the Whitestone restaurant looked after us so well on all theee occasions we ate there. Highly recommended

Good and quiet stay Ideal to rest after a long trip,the room was comfortable although a bit small. The seat at the tiny desk, is uncomfortable. The executive lounge is good with finger food (please provide chili pati) and drinks, although quality decreased somehow. Red and white wines are very basic, and no sparkling wine such as Champagne or Prosecco. Nice expresso coffee there, with croissants in the morning and dry biscuits in the afternoon. Excellent service from Sofia, caring, courteous, and professional. She deserves special thanks for her kindness and availability.

Ally is the best person I have ever meet 🥳🥳 Very good customer service, she is very Warm to her customers, the breakfast was great, however, if you are gluten and dairy intolerant you will have limited options, the rooms are great, out door activities are awesome, the pool is so huge 🙆🏽‍♂️🙆🏽‍♂️, tennis was great, the rest you can come and experience yourself 🥳🥳
