Welcome to the ibis Styles Marennes Oléron in Marennes, a warm and family-friendly hotel. Renovated in 2025, we offer large, comfortable and air-conditioned rooms over 215 sq.ft. Enjoy our swimming pool in the summer, a welcoming terrace with bar open till 10pm and restaurant with home-cooked meals, including local signature dishes. Reception is open till 10pm, with late check-in available on request.

We are 5 minutes from fine sandy beaches, halfway between the Marennes-Oléron oyster farms and the wild coast of Pays Royannais. The ports of La Rochelle, Rochefort, Royan are under 45 mins away oyster beds, Marennes beach, Palmyre zoo, Hermione, the Royal Ropery, La Rochelle aquarium and Ile de Ré.

For guests with cycles we have secure and private cycle parking.

Very disappointing, a hotel that closes up at 8pm

We were aware when booking this hotel that because it was the weekend, the restaurant would be closed. This was not a problem because we had researched that there was a supermarket nearby where we could get food for the evening. However, we were unaware as there is no mention on the Accor website, that the entire hotel closes up at 8pm when the receptionist turns off all the lights and goes home. This made it a very unwelcoming stay. There is a public bar/lounge area but no possibilty of even sitting in there unless you wanted to sit in complete darkness. The only option we had was to sit in the room as it was the only lit place. We were astonished to find out later that even the exterior lights including the carpark lights had been turned off, so we had to take our dog out in pitch blackness, hoping not to trip over anything. It made us feel insecure & isolated. The receptionist was very friendly & helpful and next morning the breakfast was good. However, it seems to me that the entire place is run by one person and when she goes home...thats it, which quite frankly is no way to run a hotel. We felt like we had been sent to bed at 8pm like naughty children. If you dont want to run the hotel at the weekend and you have no staff to do so, then close it !!

First of all, I am a loyal Accor hotels client. Second, I frequently choose Ibis Styles, for the good balance between price and quantity. Not the case for this hotel. No welcome drink. No towels. No cleaning! Excuse: Covid! Unable to enter the hotel at night - card not functioning, reception closed. Breakfast very poor and non - hygienic. Everyone touching everything. Garden dirty. One positive thing: silent neighbourhoods. And second: the flowers in the parking

Useful location - just off a main road but not disturbed by traffic noise. Convenient for exploring Brouage fortified town, Ile d'Oléron, Atlantic beaches, etc. Some distance (around 2 km) to find a place to eat at weekends when the restaurant is closed (apart from breakfast). It's worth going a bit further (around 4 km) to the rue des Martyrs, through the oyster-farming area to the Seudre river for wonderful oysters, fish, and seafood. The bedding has been upgraded but more renovation is needed - the shutter in one of 2 rooms didn't work and the shower height adjustment was stuck.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience. We want to offer as weel a fine cuisine, thatrs why we dont do a lot as many restaurant arround, to garantee tha our cuisine is fresh and nicely made. Maybe you didnt see the restaurants in town (not too far, 10 min. walk, and we also hire bikes to circle arround) but there are some, as the pizzeria you saw. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of.
