My sisters whose 1st trip to Myaar and Inle Lake enjoyed our 3 days and 2 nites stay. The trip was made more memorable when we were upgraded to the villa overlooking the lake. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable

Got upgraded to the villa as a recognition being Accor member. The best Accor resort we stayed at so far! The restaurant is also fantastic, the Shan set menu we tried for dinner was delicious. Absolute gem at Inle Lake, spacious villa/room, wonderful staff, and yummy food. A great place to relax and recharge. Hope to be back again!

The hotel is new and the rooms are very big, we did get an upgrade to a villa, that it was fantastic. The views from the room balcony are stunning. The only thing to improve is maybe the sunset restaurant prices, quite high for Myanmar.

Great villa very spacios and cleverly designed. Fantastic ntastic place, location overlooking the lake and faultless service. Highly recommended place to stay at inle lake. Free bike hire available at reception.

The resort is splendid, well arrange, with very comfortable large room. Our room was lake view room, which allowed us to admire the lake from our own balcony. The room are very clean with very comfortable bedding. large bathroom including both bath and shower separately with good water pressure and hot water. We particularly appreciated the kindness and professionalism of all staff including the management who are always near the guest to provide anything help but keep the privacy whenever it is needed. We were also lucky to spend the Christmas weekend in this property where they organized a great Christmas dinner with an amazing variety of food, all always perfectly prepared. The small attention to the guests such as Chocolate box in the room, Christmas gifts on the bed shows how they care about guests. We will definitely come back soon to enjoy another romantic weekend in this property

Good hotel

Hotel is good, location little bit isolated, diffcult to get transport, room is excellent, reception was fantastic. Menu variation in restaurant is not so variety and the problem no nearby restaurants. Food taste is good, breakfast no much choices

First visit at the Inle Lake Novotel. Great stay. Very pleasant staff. Kudo to the hotel manager, Eric Laurent, who made our stay a memorable experience. The New Year Eve celebrations were also quite well organized - congratulations to the entire team.

Amazing hotel at Lake Inle

We arrived to the Novotel after two days of trekking from Kalaw to Inle Lake. We were exhausted and so we were very delighted to be greeted by the great hotel staff (although it qas NYE day and they were quite busy). The hotel has a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains. The facilities including spa and restaurants are also on point. Overall, highly recommend it.

Nice hotel, nice room, nice swimming pool, nice view. Not nice service, not nice position, everything very expensive, long far distance from airport, not european standard in clean of room, there is not resort like resort in Thailand.

We have been upgraded in one of the best room in the hotel. The view was amazing and the room was SO beautiful and huge. All the hotel staff is so nice and taking care of the customer. We had 2 so relaxing sessions at the spa. one of the best treatment ever.

Good Property, but Poor Management

We went for a quite vacation to celebrate our 65th B'day. We chose Novotel because of its location and because of my long standing membership with their loyalty program. Location was great, all staff - local Myanmar people - were courteous, friendly, smily and ever ready to respond to our needs. But, they were constrained by some of the bizarre cost saving rules set by the Management (or don't know whether by the resident Manager, who incidentally is very hard to get to meet). I don't want to go into details except to say that these rules which may result in a saving of 5 USD per day or so and the way they are being enforced make you feel that you are an unwanted guest in a country which is known for its hospitality and nice people !! I have stayed in several Accor Hotels in Europe and East Asia and I have never felt that way. It was a lean season - stayed for four nights, first week of September. Though there were only 12 house guests, the manager was never available to meet us despite our multiple requests. We wanted to provide our feedback on specific matters in person !! Finally, he contacted us over phone on the last day late evening, after three nights of stay, to find out why we wanted to meet him ... .... we had several options, especially when we were paying almost USD 160 per night during lean season - we should have gone to a place where we would have received a better treatment - lesson learnt - don't go by the Brand Name !!!

We spent 3 nights early January 2016, a family of four, with 2 teenagers 14 & 16 . My husband is Accor Hotels Gold member. We had asked for adjacent rooms by email but received no answer. At the check in nothing was mentioned and we were taken to our rooms to find out they were quite far away from each other. After returning to Reception to consider options for adjacent rooms, a lady (could not read her badge clarly so no idea what her role was) said we had been upgraded and that was why our rooms were not adjacent ! Now, this is a classic example of poor communication: what should have been communicated as great news, was not and the result was customer disatisfaction! The rooms are very nice and comfy and very bright. The only detail was the lack of view (ours, room 5201 ,did have a nice view as it was at the end of the building). The restaurant by the pool (Tiffin) is a bit cold, like a chain restaurant and with no real atmosphere. The staff were very helpful but not very professional: they didn't remove empty glasses or empty bottles and even not plates straight away. One evening they told us there was no more bottled water! So they proposed Evian as an alternative to the normal (USD 2) bottle water. To our surprise, and disappointment, we were told the Evian will be charged at $5 - after complaining, we were offered water from a plastic dispenser and kindly offered "free of charge"! It was tepid by the way. Also their english was not very good. We say this compared to other hotels we experienced in Myanmar and where the understanding was much better. The pool itself is very nice. But the service lacked: after people had left, towels stayed on the chairs on the deck and the same with dirty plates or glasses from food and drink. During our 4 day stay, the pool bar remained empty but also dusty. A plate full of cheese leftovers stayed outside a bedroom door (not ours) from 10 am to 4 pm. It was only removed once I asked a member of staff to do it . The jetty restaurant and (sunset) bar is again not tempting. However, the seats outside near the fireplace do make it cosy. The bar inside is smelly and untidy there was a big plastic bucket full of ice and bottles, plastic containers with the chips and peanuts and did not tempt us to sit and have a drink at the bar. These items should be stored in a back room or at least out of sight in order to allow guests to have a drink in a nice setting ! The excursions were brilliant: we took one of the hotel boats for 10 USD to go to Nyaung Shwe and 26 USD for a full day of sightseeing. This is great value for money. The spa was great: very nice and very competent staff: we tried massages, pedicure and manicure and all were excellent . The check out was fine. Only detail is that we wanted to use our Accor vouchers and we were then told it would take 20 mm to process them. Now, this reward scheme where you print vouchers (and only in protrait format!!!!) and give them to the hotel who has to check them oin the system is really old style. It's like the French "Cheques"! Come on, we are in the digital age! Overall we would not recommend this hotel as there it lacks a genuine spirit and atmosphere.

I stayed this hotel 5/23 - 26 and satisfied with this hotel from bottom of my heart because of great hospitality and atmosphere!! I strongly hope that internet facility will be improved... Anyway, I want to go back this hotel in near future!

Poor service

Reception staff especially trainners had poor English ability and service mind-set. Not even French GM but also Myanmar staff is not responsible with their jod requirement. I guess it was due to new hotel and limited human resources in this local area of Myanmar. It was disappointed that there was bud smell in the room all the time even room layout was nice. Even I asked to fix it but only flegrance was sprayed that was just stopgap measures. I do not recommend to select this hotel if you want to expect to have reasonable accomodation.

Beautiful hotel but with extremely poor management

Beautiful hotel located right next to the lake. However, marred by poor management and service. The first night of our 3D2N stay in the hotel, the entire bathroom is flooded due to piping problem from the level above, which caused all of our baggages including clothes are drenched. They replaced our room and dried our baggages (but I'm not sure if they really washed them or just tumble dry them). Toilet smelled due to sewage problem (in both rooms). This should not happen to a hotel with less than 6 months old. Restaurant service is poor during our 2 dinners (not much option if you are travelling with kid). The orders arrived late and some went missing. The front desk also mixed up our boat ride which caused 30mins delay. Expecting more from Novotel and the price I paid ... very disappointing experience in a wonderful and lovely place ....
