Cold, noisy room

We had been here at least twice before and had no problems. This time sadly it was very disappointing. On arrival the window was open in the room so of course being January it was very cold. We closed the window and stayed in bed until we could go out to eat. On return, the room was no warmer, and nothing we did would make the heating come on. There was an electric heater in the room and at first it did not seem to work either - we discovered in the morning, the thermostat had been turned to min. not max. We had tried phoning reception, she said something about adjusting from their end but I guess that was just to get us to leave her alone. In addition to the lack of heating the window even when closed, had cold air coming in around it (not very green!). No wonder the noise of kids revving motorbikes outside seemed so loud when we were trying to have an early night. I could also feel the draught in bed and had to sleep with clothing wrapped around my head. At breakfast when we went around 7.30 there were no spoons - not even teaspoons - and my husband was trying to eat stewed apple and yoghurt with a fork. Just as we were leaving they were putting them out. Please management, fix the window and heating in room 106! Even for an Ibis Budget this wouldn't have been good at all.

Sweltered in this dishonest hotel, avoid.

Value hotel, saved by a great receptionist working her socks off, but failed by the lies about air conditioning. The latter, not working for a year according to reviews, so I rang ahead to check as the description says it has and has read others' comments... and they lied. Awful, sweaty night, little sleep. Tantalising little green light on the box, but not working and controls were useless. Whole room is basic...minimalist isn't necessarily stylish! And at breakfast (open plan, cleaning staff arriving at 0900) while we chose our buffet food, using tongs for the pastries and other items, should a cleaner really just walk up, grab two croissants with her hand, and walk away stuffing one into her mouth? Only gets three stars as the receptionist /bar lady / sorting laundry / doing admin on arrival was kind and helpful, and working so hard. Otherwise two stars...and avoid.

There was no A/C the entire stay, even though when booking it said there would be. There were no screens on the window, so opening those to get any relief from the heat resulted in your room having bugs flying around. The rooms are also very small, which maybe not have been the end of the world, had it not been so incredibly hot.

One night stay in Betune.

Good hotel. A bit out of the way in an industrial estate but plenty of options to eat closely around. We dined at an Italian restaurant which was very good. There is also a McDonalds close and a B&M Store.

Perfectly functional and convenient. Good parking and several chain restaurants nearby . The room was clean and adequate. Not much storage but quiet. The air conditioning wasn't working and the staff member told me that they were waiting for a technician to fix it. Looking back at previous reviews it appears to have been out of service since at least June! Breakfast was fine and plentiful and the staff were friendly and courteous. Would stay here again if they fixed the Aircon
