We had booked this place on the basis of its location and the photos. Unfortunately it is very close to busy roads and the car park is very visible form the road. We didn’t feel that it was a safe location for our motorcycles so we decided not to stay. The staff were excellent about this and very helpful. The interior looked good, as you’d expect from an Ibis, and if in a car I’m sure it’s be fine.

An unusual Ibis

Fortunately, the staff make this Ibis, the reception and dining staff were exceptional, because it is an unusual Ibis... there is no lift/elevator and the stairs are not for the less agile with heavy bags although the young man at reception did offer to carry ours up. We were given a room on the ground floor, not far from reception. The room was your standard Ibis although there were no tissues in ours... there is parking outside the front of the hotel but very little of it so you need to get in early. We ate at a nearby local restaurant (can't remember the name) recommended by reception and did all right. And we had an excellent and welcome nightcap at the bar before turning in. The town is about five minutes away by car but not easily accessible when we went because of roa works.
