Review for Grand Mercure Medan As a solo traveler from the UK, I stayed at the Grand Mercure Medan for a brief transit on my way to Bukit Lawang. I was truly impressed by the level of service and comfort this hotel provided, making it an ideal stopover before continuing my journey into the jungle. From the moment I arrived, the reception and concierge teams went out of their way to ensure I felt welcome and well taken care of. The staff at the front desk were warm, efficient, and quick to provide recommendations and directions, even offering tips for my trip to Bukit Lawang. They understood exactly what a traveler like me needed, from local insights to arranging transportation, and handled everything with ease and professionalism.

I was impressed for the service in Grand Mercure Medan, during my stay it was very comfortable and all the staff was kind and helpful When I was check in the receptionist was so kind and give all information clearly This hotel are highly recommended

A luxury diarrhea?

This hotel is terrible. Do not eat from the restaurant, you will get food poisoning. I have spent 3 days here and have been sitting on the toilet for 2 days. If you call room service they only seem to have fried rice. Everything else seems to be unavailable. Last night i called to order a tiramisu cake as i thought most likely i wouldn't get diarrhea from eating that, but no, unavailable. Today i tried to order a hamburger, but no, unavailable. All that seems to be available is fried rice in various combination with either chicken or prawns. The stuff that i got sick from. The room is extremely noisy and windows seem to be from single pane glass. Lot's of noise from the hall as well as there is a huge gap under the door.

We enjoyed our stay at Grand Mercure Medan very much. The room is spacious, well-kept and comfortably furnished. We stayed in the room 1016, from 14/09 until 19/09. The breakfast buffet is delicious, and offers enough different variations, either local or international options. Fresh fruits are also always served. The hotel's staff were really helpful, friendly and accommodating. On our first dinner, there was some inconvenient disorganisation, which caused our meals and drinks to arrive very late and in an incorrect order (the starter and the main dish arrived at the same time). However, the duty manager at the time, Mr. Amba, immediately gave their explanations and apologies. when they found out about my birthday, Mr. Amba and his friendly customer-oriented staff did not fail to give me some very lovely attention during our next dinner at the hotel! Thank you so much for all your kindness and lovely service, Mr. Amba, Miss Rizka, Miss Nova, and the other staff! You made our stay at Mercure very memorable!
