Nice hotel beautiful grounds

I stayed here with my husband for work for 2 nights. The hotel is close enough to Surfers only about 10-15 mins drive. A little out of the way if you don’t have a car. The grounds of the golf course are really nice and relaxing. The room was a golf course room which was large and clean. It’s an older resort so a little dated but we didn’t mind. The pools are both really lovely but with heavy rain during our stay we unfortunately didn’t get to use them. Only down sides were the stairs up to the room with no lift and most importantly you need non slip mats in the bath i was being careful but still I took a tumble getting into the shower. Very slippery when wet The restaurant was my favourite Woombye Brie was Devine and the lamb was juicy and tasty. All staff were very friendly We got this hotel on Accor special so was only $152 a night. Don’t think I would pay more than that though

Check in was great and the receptionist was very friendly. Given a map of the area. Had to pay separately for breakfast as it wasn't included in the price. No lifts in the resort so we had to trail our luggage up to the 3rd floor. No bellboy. Room was very drab and could do with updating. Very little in the way of teas and coffees provided in the room. Small balcony (not pool view). Pool towels are quite small and you are limited to one. The sun loungers are ok but can get uncomfortable and hot especially with only one small towel. Housekeeping is very weird times, once early in the morning when we had to request the lady to come back as we were still using the room and another time we had to request reception to send housekeeping (late in the afternoon) Breakfast buffet was not impressive and the scrambled eggs were made from powered egg. There wasn't any kind of cheese selection and this was confirmed when I asked the waiter if there were any cheeses available. Overall a clean hotel but I would choose somewhere else when I return to this area.

Stayed for two nights for work. The room was generally really quiet which was perfect for work. But the room next door had a ridiculously loud slam to their door that scared the crap out of me whenever they came or went. Not sure why it was so wall shaking loud. They were older visitors and weren’t slamming it! But otherwise the bed was super comfy and it was private and safe. But the absolute best bit were the staff. All of them were amazing. So polite and helpful. All very friendly and cheerful and made me feel welcome. Breakfast was ok as was dinner at the restaurant. Would recommend.

Despite the hotel being very busy it was lovely and quiet the staff were efficient in every area from the front office to the restaurant

On 10 November 2024, my husband and I stayed at Mercure Hotel, Carrara for a five night stay. The Front Desk Manager told us that the height restriction for underground car parking was 2.2m when in effect, it was 2m. This required my husband to reverse back up the driveway onto the busy road. We were directed to park our camper van on the street which required walking on the nature strip immediately outside the Hotel. . Monday 11 November 2024, I walked two steps on the nature strip and fell into a deep hole. Notified Front Desk Manager who immediately went to the CCTV cameras for verification and returned with an Incident Report form. She offered us zero assistance as my left foot was swelling fast and then I was informed that she was the First Aid Officer. A complaint was made and the following day the General Manager sat with my husband and I for breakfast. He was very open and honest with us and stated that he had reported the hole to Gold City Council but they needed to replace the concrete kerb guttering so the issue was ignored. I went to a Gold Coast doctor on the day of the incident who informed me that my left foot was badly bruised. Two and a half weeks later, a MRI was undertaken and I had fractured bones, torn tendons and mild plantar fasciitus. The MRI results were sent to the Mercure Hotel Manager who told me that he thought I was fine because I was walking on the foot! He could have put a barrier around the hole to prevent this incident but he failed me completely. Foot is not healing so may require surgery. Two x-rays, a MRI, an ultrasound, moon boot for over three months at my expense! This accident could have so easily have been avoided had a barrier been placed around the large hole on the nature strip outside the Mercure Hotel, Carrara.
