Poor maintenance utilities with poor management hotel, nothing on par other novotels

Stayed at Novotel yangon max on 6,7, 8 December 2024. It was a nightmare staying in there, we would change hotel unless our cousin wedding was held in their ballroom. We only stay in there only for out of necessity. I first experienced mouldy smelly room upon entering the room, due to the poor maintenance of carpets, i assumed. The worst yet is that shower outlet was broken and whenever i shower, water is leaking all over ceiling in the bathroom, had to shower under dirty water which pass the ceiling gypsum board and all my clothes were soaked outside of shower tube. I complained the front desk about the shower on 7th Dec morning yet no one taken care of, then when we are leaving the hotel for our business, I specifically told the receptionist about the faulty and leaking ceiling in bathroom. When we came back, shower had not been fixed only to know during late night shower. Complained again at front desk still no care. On 8 Dec, i came down to front desk to take care, then they promised me to be fixed when we arrived. They sent me a teeny tiny fruit plate with apology letter describing they are sorry and the problem in shower had been fixed already. Ok i let it go, then i went to shower and still no fixing at all… i call again the front desk demanding the manger on duty. The most disappointing thing is that they addressed the problem with the ease just offering us to move another room during middle of the night 10 o clock, to be exact, we were exhausted in the wedding and with two day unpacking luggages and our things scattered in the room. We had morning flight to catch tomorrow and exhausted, so we declined their offer. I cannot believe such an international hotel chain like Novotel is so incompetent in the way to address this situation. I understand the hotel is in despair state with poor maintenance utilities yet i did hope proper management skills. Besides there was also a obvious blood stained bedsheet in the bed upon arrival after long day. I called the front desk and they had housekeeping to change the new bedsheets, everything was ok except had to wait to sleep at middle of the night and guilty feeling of watching tiring a housekeeper changing the bedsheets for 30 minutes. For the record, my room was 927. I paid full rate in room price by myself, not discounted ones nor third party deals.

My family and I are thoroughly impressed by Novotel Yangon Max and their exceptional service. We are very glad we chose Novotel for our stay as all the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and thoughtful. In particular, Rosa, Htat, Chaw, Khiang Zin, Myat Pwint, have made our holiday here special too with a suprise birthday celebration. Novotel has top facilitaties too for all ages and families. I lived two days in hotel. First impression of receptionists are very great full and hospitality. A girl who is the one of receptionists, her name is Chaw who is a really good staff in hotel . Room is clean , breakfast buffets are really good . Hope to come and visit for next time .

Great interior with very good food. The staff were very attentive and warm in their approach. My orders were taken care by Ma Nandar Kyaw. A very vibrant, gorgeous and courteous lady. Tasty food and very evenly priced for a good time spent at the premises.

Novotel Yangon Max The Square Restaurant is one of my favorite in the Yangon . The Saturday signature buffet has a lots of food & desert . Seafood are also fresh and addicted to eating those . My Mother loves their Strawberry-coconut mocktails ya all should try . However they serve us best service who are Ms.Nadar , Mr.Han Thar Lin , Mr Khant Htet , Ms.SuSu and Mr.Zwe are welcome welcoming and giving us high quality service I m pretty sure that I will visit again
