We have stayed here a number of times over the years and have seen it rapidly decline. We were in room 1302. First thing we noticed was that there were no knobs on the oven, we told reception and they came and looked and said there would be a guy to look at it tomorrow but they never came. They offered us to cook in another room and now I read other reviews and see this must be a common problem at Sebel. The kitchen and bathrooms were not clean and there was hair on the floors. Only three dinner plates for a family of four. Only one saucepan no fry pan. No tea towel, broom or vacuum and now they only clean once a week for long stay. We were there for six nights and not one clean or top up of essential items such as toilet paper and soap, which was empty as they are refillable pumps. Carpet and furniture was dirty, windows unclean and a dining chair was broken. The pool heater was not working and there were tiles lifted up in the pool area and cordoned off. All the staff were polite and helpful apart from the gentleman who checked us in, who made a couple of inappropriate jokingly comments to me when I questioned the charge of something which was very embarrassing for me in front of other guests. For the price the Sebel is definitely not value for money and we will not stay there again.

I can’t believe this is an Accor hotel. Absolutely disgusting. Dusty, dirty, filth. There was someone’s used Band-Aid stuck to the inside of the dryer door. The carpet had visible dirt and hair from previous guests in it (does the hotel own a vacuum?) Dishes and glasses were absolutely gross and cloudy but that doesn’t surprise me since the dishwasher was full of mould. Air conditioner was turned off at the master and only worked in the living area, not in either of the bathrooms. There was no daily maid service. That’s fine, but you need to provide guests with the ability to tidy up after themselves. One tiny kitchen bin with one bin liner, no broom or dustpan is not good enough. Not nearly enough washing up liquid. Also, if you’re going to triple sheet, you should at least have staff come in and make the beds back up daily. Triple sheeting is terrible at the best of times. Breakfast was meant to be included with our accommodation but there was no breakfast at all. When I booked, parking was quoted at $25 per day but on our arrival they charged $30. Even the pool area was filthy and the tiles and questionable construction work were a shocker. There is a paper sign on the pool door saying that they are working on their pool heater so the pool is cold. Given that they had not checked or updated the temperature in nearly a month, I’ll say this is absolute rubbish. The hotel’s only saving grace is the proximity to Westfield so that you can escape the filth as soon as the sun is up.

Give this one a miss!

Stay away! Seriously, unclean, not Covid safe, no room service, no restaurant, pleasant staff, but, they did not do anything they promised such as fill the toiletries in the bathroom that were empty. Hallways of the 14th floor were not cleaned in 5 days, so we had to walk over it every day:

Recently my family and I spent 10 days at The Sebel in Chatswood, the location is fantastic, Westfield shopping centre is across the street and a mall with great food options and a lot more shopping right outside The Sebel. Public transport very close as well. The staff were very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to help. But the hotel is marketed as premium accommodation which it certainly is not. It is very old and dated and in need of some TLC, the kitchen floor was very old and marked. There were a little child's hand prints on the windows, so the windows definitely hadn't been cleaned before us. We bought most of our groceries the first day we arrived and went to use the oven the first night, we had our chicken etc ready to cook but the oven would not work, my partner called down to reception, a guy came up to see what was wrong, next morning they got maintenance to try to find out the problem, the oven was so old it was probably old age, it could not be fixed, so we could only use the microwave and stove top. We were offered another room, but because we were on the 22nd floor and paid more for a premium room up high we turned down the offer of another room down on the 16th floor, the view was not as spectacular as higher up on the 22nd floor, and we didn't want to have to pack up and move again. We were very impressed with how the staff allowed us to cook our food from our first night, in the room down on the 16th floor, it was greatly appreciated. I have never stayed anywhere that didn't have a toilet brush or even a dustpan and broom, after a few days with 2 adults, a 9yr old and 13yr old it would have been good to be able to sweep up crumbs etc. Also the pool deck was being renovated, so there was nowhere to sit, in the 10 days we were there we never saw anyone come to work on the tiles, my girls were really looking forward to going to the pool but we used it about 3 times as it wasn't a place you wanted to be when there was nowhere to sit and watch them. I would definitely stay in the suburb Chatswood again, easy to get to the CBD, and a great city vibe, I'd just not stay at The Sebel again.

Good location, in Chatswood. Apartment style and spacious. Good size kitchen. Good and friendly service from all staff. Near nice restaurants and other food outlets. Close to train and metro station and other facilites.
