I have just returned from having a light lunch with a friend in the bar area of the hotel. Having been there a number of times previously and being happy with the offerings, I was disappointed today when the food was not up to the standard that I had experienced on earlier visits. We had a focaccia sandwich. The choice was very limited. The bread was exceedingly dry - too dry to eat. We like this hotel and the ambience of the bar area. It is comfortable and quiet enabling one to have a conversation without needing to shout. However, after today I feel reluctant to return.

Spent five nights here. Room is comfortable and quiet and the pool is good. PowerPoints close to bed and it’s a good mattress. Cleaning is pretty minimal and often very late in the afternoon. The wifi is terrible. We could not open most attachments or read an article online. I also had an unfortunate experience walking into the hotel. A man was standing in the doorway and he threw a lit cigarette at me. I was able to duck but it was disconcerting. The staff at the hotel were not interested and said there wasn’t anything they could do. While it wasn’t their fault I’m an older woman and it certainly made me feel unsafe. Overall I’ve had better stays in Adelaide. We will go elsewhere in the future.

Spent Christmas at The Playford, not the most enjoyable jolly time. The staff couldn’t smile and definitely not as friendly as other 5 stars. The room was nice but with little amenities.. the toilet paper wasn’t replenished on our last day snd we had to use the tissues! .. That was the last straw after a few minor issues. The restaurant is more like a cafe, food was nice but lacks 5 stars atmosphere. On checking out we were sent the receipt via email only to be change twice for a bottle of wine from the mini bar. Pity we used some Accor points to stay .. as we weren’t treated like members nor received any member benefits. No idea where the five stars come from.
