There are about 5 hotels in this complex near Uluru. This is the second best. The room is adequate with a nice sized bathroom. Our room had 2 beds rather than a king. Not sure if there are rooms with one king bed. Housekeeping was spotty. Our shower soap was empty for our 3 days. We didn’t receive any hand towels after day 1. There is free laundry available which is nice. If this hotel were located anywhere else, it would probable be rated 2 stars.

Desert Gardens is great place to stay. The room was of decent size, the beds comfortable and all areas were very clean. The tour buses and hop on hop off bus picked guests up from in front on the hotel which was very convenient. The hotel is also a very short walk to the town square, a walk around the gardens was nice and the walk to the lookout was a pleasant one. The meals in the all day dining were flavoursome, we ate dinner here twice and also tried the gecko cafe which was great too. Our three-night stay was smooth from start to end, everything went without issue. We were looked after the minute we were picked up from the airport by the hotel transfer bus. It is a great experience and I highly recommend this hotel.

Cannot fault the efficiency of staff and cleanliness of the hotel. Easy airport transfers, resort shuttle service and check-in/check-out procedures. Beds were extremely comfortable and room nicely maintained. Had both breakfast and lunch at the hotel restaurant, barramundi was fabulous. The entire resort was absolutely spotless, a credit to all the grounds staff. Easy to organise tours and car hire in nearby Town Square; the entire resort was easily walkable and views from lookouts at sunrise and sunset amazing. This is an extremely remote location and really impressed us. Highly recommended. Do bring a fly net to wear though, it's the outback after all.

While the accommodation at Desert Gardens Hotel Uluru offered comfortable beds for a restful night's sleep, the bathroom experience was less than satisfactory. Upon entering suggesting poor ventilation or cleanliness issues. The milky cappuccino at Desert Gardens Hotel Uluru wasn't enjoyable. Served for lunch - very small beef burger, maybe kids' size. The biggest disappointment of not finding breakfast or soup options on the menu. Maybe less burgers and chips?! More healthy food will be nice. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Loved the Garden walk and bush Yard with the great indigenous Tour guide, Ganiva. She was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. She knows what she is talking about, and she includes some interesting stories.

SBT5742 Couples - TripAdvisor review

Whilst this resort is in the middle of nowhere they have everything you need! The staff were amazing from the smiling man who will help you find your room and help you with your bags. To the staff in the restaurant! I have to give a special mention to Mawar in the restaurant who made our day with her lovely smile and how happy and helpful she was! We stayed in a room with a view of Uluru and it was lovely, very spacious and comfortable. I could have looked at that view all day! We thoroughly enjoyed our excursions, the sounds of silence dinner, the sunrise tour over Kata Tjuṯa and the sunset tour to Uluru. Everything was very well organised and all of our guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. We went in April and the flies were still a nuisance, I highly recommend a fly net which solves that problem. The only other problem with this resort is we could have stayed another day!
