We booked this hotel as attending a wedding in Troon. Which was only a 20 min taxi journey, £30 in total. Arrived late evening & staff were friendly & welcoming. Room was big & we had a fantastic view of Ayr beach and the sea. We were staying for 3 nights & included breakfast in our stay. Good value for money & when showing our friends the hotel, they ended up changing to here from where they had originally booked, due to the price difference. Breakfast was brilliant, so much choice & again, friendly staff working the breakfast area. Location is really accessible, 10 min walk from the train station & easy to find by drive. Only downfall was the parking. The hotel carpark is accessible to all but at a discounted rate for staying in the hotel. In my opinion, if you've already paid to stay in the hotel, parking should be free if they have their own parking area. But it was only £7 a day which is cheap compared to some places I've parked in. All in all, a fantastic stay!

BE AWARE OF SLY PARKING CHARGES. The unhelpful and discourteous manner in this hotel is appalling.

This hotel parking is appalling. First you have to pay for the £7 privilege, then you don't get advised that there is a further rigmarole to go through to ensure that Smart Parking doesn't charge you again! They hit us twice! I got an amazingly poor response from the Front Ofiice manager who implied that mt wife was a liar, and that her staff "always tell customers of the procedures to go through". There wasn't even a hint of help being offered. I am appalled that Mercure, who are usuakky pretty good are happy with this hotel. Looking at the reviews about this, of which there are a few, I expect to get a copy and pasted response which shows the level of contempt for customers that they have here!

Het hotel is erg oud en alles laat te wensen over. De vloerbedekking in de kamers is smerig. De douche is oud en toen ik er was geen warm water in de morgen. Kamersleutel werkte niet en de managers moest erbij komen. Er is een trucje om de Larry snel in en uit de deur te steken en dat moet je maar weten. Heb meer mensen zien knoeien met de deur te openen.

Dit hotel is absoluut niet Mercure waardig. Het is zo verouderd, en als je zelfs de verwarming op je kamer niet kunt uitzetten en dus het raam maar open moet zetten voor frisse lucht (en de verwarming dus aan blijft staan) is toch enorm jammer. Tevens enorm verouderde kamers maar het ergste was het ontbijt. Ik heb nog nooit zoeen karig sn slecht ontbijtbuffet meegemaakt, er lag bijna niks en wat er lag was niet eens vers...

Dear Guest Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry your stay was not up to your expectations. I am at a loss as to why you could not adjust your heating. Each radiator has a thermostat control on the bottom right hand side giving you setting options from off to full. We are currently undertaking a refurbishment of our bedrooms. and have just started the final floor. I suspect you may have been in one of the rooms still to be done.
