Awful hotel. No teabags in room, when asked for some at reception they found some decaf and asked me to come back in the morning if I wanted breakfast tea. Room stank, obviously had some work done prior to use as window was wide open. The work which we assumed was in the bathroom , as that was where the smell was worse, hadn’t worked as it completely flooded when we ran a bath. Reception disinterested. Barely glanced at us when we checked out. Had a real fawlty towers vibe to the place.

Fabulous overnight stay

My sister and (now) sister in law got married at this hotel last weekend and it was absolutely amazing. We had our two children with us and one uses a wheelchair so we were given inter joining rooms on the ground floor which was really helpful. The staff ran round all day to get everything ready for the wedding at 4pm. They carried gifts, table decorations, props and most importantly kept the brides separated until the ceremony. Food was fantastic, DJ was great. Everyone went above and beyond. If there was one little negative it was that there were a few guests who stayed who weren’t part of the wedding party which is fine but they complained about the noise and one guest actually took to banging on people’s doors. The outside guests should be told there will be a wedding and perhaps put in rooms away from the main wedding party. We got some dirty looks at breakfast! Other than that it was great. I overheard a guest complaining about his room because it was ‘old’ but it’s a grade 2 listed building! Someone also complained about how long it took to be served at the bar… again it was a wedding so there were quite a few guests. Take the ‘desperately needs updating’ comments with a pinch of salt.. you want modern go to a travel lodge. You want character go to the grange

Really in need of renovation!

Very poor stay and I won't be returning. The grounds are lovely but the hotel is in dire need of renovation. After being greeted by lots of flies in the room. I found the shower head hanging from the wall, rusty shower pole, limescale around the taps, faulty tv (line through the middle), fan dangerously split in two pieces, wall needed painting, stained carpet.... the list goes on! I did email and was hoping to get a response to say the hotel was at least looking into it but literally nothing back hence my review. This hotel really needs to improve!

Refurbishment overdue

This hotel is in dire need of refurbishment, especially the bathroom in the room we were assigned. Having paid close to £100 for bed and breakfast we felt short changed. The outside of the hotel looks lovely, grounds are nice and the breakfast was adequate. We would not return tho unless the rooms were refurbished (And the leaks in the ceilings were fixed!)

Het is al een ervaring om het hotel te naderen over de lange oprijlaan. Het hotel ziet er uitnodigend uit aan de buitenkant. we hadden een hele fijne ruime kamer, met hemelbed en bankstel. Het personeel was heel vriendelijk. Het eten in het restaurant was heerlijk.
