I've stayed here on many previous occasions on business, but this may well be my last following terrible restaurant service this evening. I was kept waiting for an unacceptable amount of time for the main course and gave up waiting for dessert. I settled the bill and slightly bit my lip when I saw 10% service charge (should have been the other way around!). On a previous occasion, i couldn't watch TV as there was no aerial. The following morning, there was no hot water and had to resort to having a cold shower (not the first time this has happened). The body wash in the bathroom was empty, but a week later, I stayed in the same room, and it was exactly the same. It is also worthy of note that the floorboards are extremely squeaky, so if you're a light sleeper on the ground floor, you will almost certainly be disturbed. The reception staff exhibit a transactional attitude rather than displaying a personable approach. I have heard anecdotally that many others in my business have stopped visiting the Mercure, North Grange, Bristol, as the service has been bad. I may well join them as, in my opinion, standards have slipped

We were slightly timid to see the hotel after seeing all the previous reviews but our stay was nothing short of amazing. From the minute we arrived Lily on reception greeted us kindly and got us our beautiful room. We had biscuits and coffee in the room which was a lovely touch. Food at the hotel was also great, we went for the Pie of the Day, Marsha was a wonderful waitress. All in all, we would absolutely come back to this hidden gem!

Het is al een ervaring om het hotel te naderen over de lange oprijlaan. Het hotel ziet er uitnodigend uit aan de buitenkant. we hadden een hele fijne ruime kamer, met hemelbed en bankstel. Het personeel was heel vriendelijk. Het eten in het restaurant was heerlijk.

Niet veel gebruik gemaakt van alle faciliteiten van het hotel i.v.m. late aankomst. Ontvangst was erg vriendelijk. Ontbijt was typisch Engels. Niet voor mij bestemd. Dus yoghurtje. Vlees beleg, ham ed was fijn geweest.
