Mercure Norwich Hotel 4 estrellas

We stayed at Mercure Norwich Hotel over the New Year holiday with friends visiting Norwich, and attended their New Years Eve gala dinner. The event was excellent, and we had a fantastic time. We really enjoyed the band and DJ’s, and the 4 course dinner was outstanding. All in all the event was great value, and we would certainly attend again. The hotel itself also exceeded our expectations. The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, and our room spacious and spotlessly clean. My favourite part of any hotel stay is the breakfast, which in this case was excellent and plentiful. Served buffet style all the food was fresh and replenished regularly. An added bonus was the large, free car park which, when compared with the parking charges at many city centre hotels, makes the overall stay surprisingly good value.

I went to this hotel for my New Year’s Eve celebrations and I thought it was very good and enjoyed it very much the food was an excellent quality and good portion and extremely tasty and the entertainment was very good I will definitely attend another event here in 2023

Advertised on their website of pool and sauna only to arrive and be told its been closed 2 years plus and they have no intention of reopening it, it should be 3 stars at best, food was way over priced and from a packet and all microwaved food also arrived at different times at the table, the windows were mould and full of condensation and a tremendous amount of condensation was on the window ledge, severe lack of hotel staff, wouldnt ever stay again

This business conference for professionals couldn't have gone much worse. The hotel was completely ill equipped for a large function. The parking was so bad we were told to 'dump our cars where we could'. The hotel was the butt of everyone's jokes all day as it was just a shambles to be honest. Queues everywhere! Queues for drink, food and toilets. The Managing Director made a joke in his closing speech that we would never hold another function here. I've never seen anything like it, people squeezed into 3 separate rooms like sardines and the noise coming from adjoining rooms meant that nobody could hear the key note speech. The only half decent bit was the food, plenty of it but slightly stale after waiting so long to get to the front. Mercure hotel do better.

Seriously avoid this place! Arrived 30 minutes early for a conference to be greeted (I use this term loosely) by a rather unfriendly woman explaining the car park was full & we would have to park at the local recreational park (smack bang in the middle of a council estate & a 15 minute walk away!) Breaks & a buffet lunch were scheduled into the itinerary. Refreshments including fruit juice & hot beverages & cookies. Lovely! After waiting in line of approximately 200+ people the cookies had run out & I had just enough time to grab a coffee! Toilet would have to wait seeing as the queue was snaked up the stairs! After previously e mailing to specify dietary requirements (vegetarian) I had a lovely (not!) selection of egg sandwiches & broken nachos! Bread was starting to go hard! Fruit juice was clearly popular as all I could see was water! Never again will I attend any kind of meeting or meal here. Very clearly the hotel was out of its depth catering for so many people. I can forgive most of it but to be spoken to rudely by somebody that works in hospitality is a disgrace to the profession! Mercure hotel! You embarrassed yourselves today!
