This was our 2nd recent visit to the Mercure. We particularly like the free parking; on our first visit to Norwich we stayed at a different hotel not far from the Mercure, but we had to pay £5 per night for parking, which adds to the cost, so we not prefer the Mwercure. We opted for the breakfast package; breakfast is very good, with lots of choice, and certainly worth the £12 you pay if you book it by the night before. The poached eggs I ordered were disappointing; I think the chef put them in the pan and then forgot about them, so they were hard poached. But the rest of the food was good. There's no lift at the hotel, but that wasn't a problem because I think there are only two floors, and there's the offer of help with your cases if you can't manage the stairs. We will certinly stay again. The only downside on this particualr visit was that there was a function on on the Saturday night - a 40th birthday party - so there were lots of bedroom doors slamming in the early hours as people came to bed, but we didn;t hear any other noise, and, to be fair, it seems impossible to close the bedroom doors quietly. Then, the next morning, breakfast was very noisy as all the part guests met up with each other again. They were just chatting and calling across the dining room to each other; they weren't rowdy, just being sociable with their friends, but it made for a very noisy environment. But there wasn't anything the hotel could do about that, and the guests were well behaved - just a bit loud. A special mention for Abby on reception, who checked us in. She's so pleasant and friendly.

Quality hotel, very friendly and helpful staff especially the reception staff , always willing to help where they can. Rooms very spacious and comfortable, cleaned on a regular daily basis.Great location for local amenities and Norwich centre .

Georgie is awesome 1000/10 staff member. Could not be replaced. Mercure is so lucky. Would come again, just for georgie. Shes charming, and a pleasure to be checked in by. I would wait for days just so she could check me in. Amazing, great, perfect

Great location, beautiful surrounding atmosphere, great staff. Most friendly and helpful receptionist and staff ever, lovely and great first impression of hotel. Everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service in where we had dinner. Food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I was very pleased with my stay. I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future. Also both receptionist Catherine and Abby always put a smile on your face

had a great stay at the mercure hotel in norwich. always feel welcome and great service. India at reception was very helpful with getting a taxi. hotel is very accommodating and in good location. Catherine on reception was helpful with receiving packages. ordered food and got room service and food was quick and good quality. all round good stay.
