Worst Hotel! Belongings go missing!

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I chose it for the great location and breakfast, which are honestly the only good things, along with the view. On the first day, I noticed two of my belongings went missing after the room was cleaned. When I finally reported it, they responded by saying they trusted their cleaning staff because they had been with the hotel for a long time and showed zero interest in compensating me or caring about the situation. Additionally, after cleaning, they didn’t replace the towels. I requested new ones, and it took 3 hours for them to arrive, only after I insisted multiple times. When they finally brought them, the towels were dirty, as shown in the photos. This happened twice. The room was constantly dirty—full of sand and hair in various places, which was never properly cleaned. I stopped trusting the cleaning service and locked everything in the safe. The next day, the safe broke, and they had to drill it open to give me access to my work equipment. I requested to have my room cleaned while I was present, but the cleaning was extremely superficial: they used a broom, didn’t vacuum, and even wiped surfaces with a used pillowcase right in front of me. The Wi-Fi was terrible in both hotels, constantly disconnecting and unreliable. After begging for basic service and being ignored by every receptionist I spoke to over the phone—they clearly didn’t care about anything I was requesting—I had to escalate the issue to the hotel manager. She was the only person who provided proper assistance and ultimately transferred me to the Mercure. While the room there was slightly better, the curtain was completely moldy. A terrible experience from start to finish. ——— O pior hotel em que já me hospedei. Escolhi pelo ótimo local e café da manhã, que, sinceramente, são as únicas coisas boas, junto com a vista. No primeiro dia, percebi que dois dos meus pertences desapareceram após a limpeza do quarto. Quando finalmente relatei o ocorrido, responderam dizendo que confiavam na equipe de limpeza porque estavam no hotel há muito tempo e não demonstraram nenhum interesse em me compensar. Além disso, depois da limpeza, não repuseram as toalhas. Solicitei novas, e demoraram 3 horas para entregá-las, só depois de eu insistir várias vezes. Quando finalmente trouxeram, as toalhas estavam sujas, como mostram as fotos. Isso aconteceu duas vezes. O quarto estava constantemente sujo—cheio de areia e cabelo em vários lugares, e nunca foi limpo adequadamente. Perdi a confiança no serviço de limpeza e passei a trancar tudo no cofre. No dia seguinte, o cofre quebrou, e precisaram arrombá-lo para que eu tivesse acesso aos meus equipamentos de trabalho. Solicitei que limpassem o quarto com minha presença, mas a limpeza foi extremamente superficial: usaram uma vassoura, não aspiraram, e ainda limparam as superfícies com uma fronha usada, bem na minha frente. O Wi-Fi era ruim em ambos os hotéis, constantemente desconectando e nada confiável. Depois de implorar por um serviço básico e ser ignorado por todos os recepcionistas com quem falei por telefone—claramente não se importavam com nada que eu estava solicitando—tive que escalar a situação para a gerente do hotel. Ela foi a única pessoa que me atendeu corretamente e, finalmente, me transferiu para o Mercure. Embora o quarto fosse um pouco melhor, a cortina estava completamente mofada. Uma experiência terrível do começo ao fim.

I stayed at the ibis for my first time in Rio. Everyone was exceptionally kind and friendly and did their best to make sure my stay was the best it good be. Roger who helped to extend my reservation was very knowledgeable and kind. I was very thankful that he was able to explain to me the information in English and answered all of my questions.
