A Very Inexpensive Stay in the Laotian Capital

The Ibis is a low end ACCOR hotel, but having said that we had a very pleasant stay. The staff are absolutely there to help you, the breakfast buffet which was included was not a big buffet as the pricier restaurants have, but it was adequate and the food was good. You get high value for your money, and the location is not bad.

I enjoyed my stay and found the hotel to be up to the normal western standard of Ibis hotels Ive stayed elsewhere in terms of rooms and service. The location is great with a 5 minute walk to Wat Sisaket, Ho Phra Keo museum and the parliament building. In fact all sites were walkable except Pha That Luang Stupa which was just a 5 minute taxi ride. Despite being located so centrally the hotel was quiet with no street noise. Step outside the hotel there are lots of restaurants on the main road and a 10 minute walk to the night market. I also found the staff spoke good English and were very helpful with booking taxis and finding a money exchange at the weekend. In summary the hotel offers a quiet comfortable stay, good location and helpful English speaking staff.

The location is very good. Close to major sights, the hotel is 20 minutes from the Patuxy monument by walking. The staff in the hotel is very friendly. Will comeback again for next trip to Vientiane!

We booked this hotel at the last minute after previously arriving into a horrible boutique hotel. This Ibis hotel was booking was done first thing in the morning, the booking was excellent, arrival at the hotel was very good, staff very helpful and rooms were ready. Hotel is well presented, fairly good location, rooms are reasonable size and fairly modern. Breakfast had plenty of options and staff were attentive. This was a great option for us after our other horrible hotel. Thank you to Ibis staff.
