Lovely hotel, great area and very well-priced

Really enjoyed my stay here. The reception staff were very friendly when checking-in and were very helpful. There was an issue with the toilet being blocked on arrival and someone was sent up to solve this within a couple of minutes. We came to Nottingham to see The Kooks and the hotel was just a five-minute walk from the venue, which was ideal. The train station was also just a 20-min walk and there were lots of pubs and restaurants in the area. The pub inside the hotel played great music and the prices were pretty good as well. The bed was very comfortable and the price we paid was brilliant for a bank holiday weekend - I will definitely be booking to stay here again if/when I come back to Nottingham.

I booked a ‘Privilege King’ - hotel description “ These spacious, exquisitely tailored boutique rooms in Nottingham are elegantly furnished and full of exclusive amenities like indulgent bathrobes and slippers. Enjoy barista-style coffee with your own Nespresso machine with unlimited capsules. ” I found the room to be stark without somewhere to sit and not having the amenities as described. I complained at reception and was told the larger rooms do not have a sofa, but the smaller ones do! I could move to a smaller room but wouldn’t do anything else. Receptionist was not at all helpful and all he said was each room was individual and to photograph each room was not possible. I said the king privilege room should not have photos of a sofa. I left before I got annoyed. See photos of what I expected (or similar) and what I got

As mentioned by our receptionist, our building is over 200 years old, and with that comes a unique charm—along with some quirks. Due to the historic nature of the property, the layout of our rooms does vary in shape and size across all room grades, including our Privilege rooms. Our team always strives to provide honest and helpful information to ensure our guests feel informed and supported during their stay. We are pleased that a solution was found to relocate you to another Privilege room with a sofa, although we regret that one of the same size or larger was not available at the time. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. After you checked out I took the liberty to check the rooms. Within the wardrobe the bathrobe and slippers were found. The Nespresso machine and the soft drinks were still there as well so I can confirm none of the amenities were missing.
