Arrived by air from Da Nang in the rain, Stayed 2 nights at the Novotel Saigon Centre in a Superior Room, then back to Australia, Celebrating our Wedding Anniversary, had a wonderful pre-allocated room no.1109, a number which coincidentally happened to be our wedding month and day 42 years ago! A beautiful cake was sent to our room, a lovely gesture.Fresh and yummy ! Welcomed with a drink at check-in, we asked for our 5000 Accor ALL REWARDS points to be used towards the invoice and Front Desk obliged even though back-office assistance was required! (That gave us a free 1.5 nights on points!-thank you!). We asked many questions of the Concierge, especially Duy and Nhut ! Friendly and personable, engaging and informative, they both assisted regarding Food, City, Bus, Shopping, Walking Tours etc. On our returns from our tours or walkabouts, they both recognized us, always showed interest, asking how we enjoyed them! Especially helpful was Concierge Nhut ringing Vietnam Airlines Reservations for us and reconfirming that our flight wasn't delayed because there appeared a hint on FlightRadar24 App that it was. The special effort by both again later to extend our Late Check-out to 2pm and beyond for our evening flight was very much appreciated. Thanks for your hospitality Novotel Saigon and treating us as "guests". Oh..... and by the way,.... we stayed at 3 hotels on our Vietnam trip, in Hanoi, Da Nang, Saigon, all 4 star... and Novotel's Saigon Room service meal was 10/10, fresh, delicious, and scrumptious ! LG-Life's Good !

Novotel Saigon Centre in a great location and excellent service staff When we are coming to Vietnam, Novotel Saigon is our first choice without any hesitations. I have interacted with many staff members. They are super friendly and always with a smile from front desk, bell service and housekeeping. They are very approachable and willing to help you any time when needed. Example: When I need to buy a local sim for my iPhone, one of the service desk members, Nhon was willing to guide me through the process to get the sim. The room is nicely re-decorated, upgraded wood floor. Room is clean, spacious with king size bed. The buffet has offered many choices ranging from local cuisine, bun bo hue and pho. It also has an array of options to choose from bacon, eggs, croissants, cereals and fresh fruits etc .... On top of that, they also offer cappuccino and macchiato choices. I strongly recommend Novotel Saigon Center to anyone who is visiting Vietnam. Thank you all the staff members for a great service and make my stay enjoyable.

I booked one room for my husband, two children aged 6 and 8 years and myself for three nights. Prior to booking I emailed the hotel directly to determine if the “sofa bed” would accommodate the children given their ages. I was assured it would and was sent a picture of the bed. I booked through the app directly and again had to put the children’s ages in the booking. Arriving after a long international flight from Sydney all we wanted was a shower and sleep. We checked in and went to the room only to discover the “sofa bed” was essentially an ottoman. There was absolutely no way two children could fit on it. It was not a traditional pull out sofa just a bench with cushions. I went down and spoke with the manger. I was annoyed that I had made the effort to contact the hotel directly Prior to booking to ensure I was not in this situation. I showed the email with a smile on my face hoping to overcome the issue. The manager showed me two other rooms available. One was with a king size bed and he suggested we sleep all in the one bed. This was not going to work. When I advised this he body shamed us by saying “A Vietnamese family would fit”. I was so shocked and offended by his comment ( I am an Australian size 12). He then proceeded to tell me to “calm down”. I was at a 5/10 of irritation at this point. I reminded him of the email and the hotel knew we were westerners and the ages of the children. He smirked at me kept saying “show me the picture, show me the picture”. I felt I had been deceived into purchasing a room that was never going to be suitable for my family. Another room option was a suite on the executive level and I would have to pay extra. I asked if there was any inter connecting rooms available and he advised no. The manger kept asking to see the photo and I was frantically trying to open the attachment. I could not find the picture only the email. The written correspondence was worth nothing to him. We returned to our room where he visually was able to see the size of my husband and children. His “solution” was to add a rollaway to the room. I asked how this would work given the limited floor space and where would the suitcases go and how would we move about the room. He continued to smirk and kept asking for the photo. By now I was at a 7/10. Still unable to open the attachment, my husband was trying on his phone. The Manger then proceeded to say he would give us the rollaway complimentary, like he was doing me the favour. I asked he look on their computer himself for the email and photo attachment. He told me he cannot access reservation emails. I have never in all my travels encountered a manger with such appalling resolution skills and attitude towards customer service despite his constant line of “compromise and solutions”. Once he was in the hallway I slammed the door shut and cried. I was now at a 9/10 and completely over it. I wanted to leave but our children needed to sleep… but they had no beds! The first night of our holiday was off to an absolutely horrendous start. My husband went to speak with him and we had the “complimentary” rollaway bought in. We literally had to walk on beds to move about the room and we had to stack three suitcases on top of each other in order to store them. Due to this encounter I would never stay here again. However- all other staff encounters were lovely and professional. Roof top bar is wonderful with great drinks and snacks. Breakfast buffet was good with great egg station. If not for the management blow out I would have rated much higher.

We have communicated with the duty manager and investigated the matter, We understand that our duty manager had offered the room move to a bigger room with a complementary extra bed or to take an extra room at 50% discount to make your stay more comfortable. However, both options were not accepted, eventually your husband came back to our duty manager and agreed for us to set up an extra bed in the existing room. Please rest assured that you and all our guests are equally important to us. We value all our beloved customers. Therefore, we would like to assure you that it was not the intention of our staff to disrespect our guests in any manner. Love the Novotel brand. This hotel does not disappoint. Excellent staff, attentive, friendly and always with a smile on their face. I found it a great location for my needs. Roof Top bar gives a great view, great drink menu and fun ambience. The restaurant offers great options with the choice of buffet or a la carte. Breakfast is comprehensive and to the beautiful young man at the egg station, thank you for cooking me the best egg white omelette every morning ! Sometimes it is the small things. The lobby bar is where you can watch all the outside action. Spa options were good and their ability to fit you in at short notice was appreciated. Concierge staff were incredibly attentive to each and every person coming through the door. Rooms are well appointed, great water pressure. My only request is if we could have Netflix availability across all rooms ! I had a fabulous dual stay and look forward to visiting again.

For the past year, my family and I have started a weekend lunch tradition of eating at The Food Exchange restaurant in Novotel. They have an excellent buffet selection, nice dining area, fun-tasty (non-alcoholic) drinks included, and the staff is friendly and always on point. Occasionally, they add a kid eating and play area. My wife is a foodie and she is continuously wanting to return. Thank you to the chefs and staff at Novotel.
