Disappointing stay which lets down the All Accor brand

On the positive side, the hotel is well located. It's a short walk to the old town and conveniently located for buses and trains. The gym is excellent. Staff were friendly and courteous, but at times ineffective. Unfortunately, we encountered a string of problems during our stay. Some of these were addressed, but many were not. (1) Room cleaning was often perfunctory, for example the layer of dust behind the headboard was only cleaned on the fourth day. (2) Safe in room did not work, but they replaced this after trying to get it to work. Two days later they came to collect the non-functional safe. (3) Sockets near the desk area were unsafe and pulled out of the wall when used. (4) Reading light by bed wasn’t working. It took two days to get fixed (5) Entrance light to room didn’t work, it never got fixed. (6) Fixtures and fittings such as the clothes rack were broken. (7) Breakfast was very limited, and items frequently ran out. One had to ask the (overworked) staff to replenish eggs, bread etc. Fruit was sometimes rotten and bread was stale. (8) The queues for the coffee machine were unacceptable as both machines were very slow. (8) Breakfast choice is very limited, especially for vegetarians and for people like me who stayed for 5 nights. On our last day we made a formal complaint about the above. We were seen by the bookings manager who promised to raise the matter with the general manager. She said that we would receive compensation for our dissatisfaction. However, a week after returning, the hotel has failed to reach out to us. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this hotel and my experience of staying there has now damaged my view of other Mercure and All Accor hotels.

Ok for a one night stopover but not somewhere to spend a holiday

Website stated coffee making facilities in standard room. There were none. We asked and got next day but then the cleaners took away the cups spoons and glasses each time they came and didn’t replace. Pool has 22 sunloungers for 118 room hotel. No toilet in pool area. Upside is we were told by travel agent and reception that breakfast wasn’t included but when we went to breakfast prepared to pay €10 each we were told our breakfast WAS included. We were told by travel agent that to use spa would cost €15 each but reception informed us it was €25 each. Didn’t use so can’t comment. There is the train station right next door but the trains/trams? are very quiet. Hotel was clean and staff friendly enough. I wouldn’t rate this as a 4-star hotel though. Even in a travel lodge or premier inn coffee/tea making facilities are provided as standard. The hotel itself looks a bit tired and a few of the big windows in reception had big cracks running through them. Be warned the immediate surrounding area is quite run down with derelict buildings, litter and weeds. More of a stop-over hotel than a holiday destination.

The young girl on reception. My god how rude! Didn’t care who we were or our reason for being there before check in. The area around the hotel is dirty and dangerous. But for a first impression, as a representative of the hotel! I wish I could have got my money back!

Lovely hotel. Staff very good and very happy to help in any way! Definitely recomand this hotel to stay. Also very close to the center only 10 min slow walking! Ludobiva at the bar very good and very smily. Alessandro in the restaurant very nice! Chiara at the reception spot on!

Mosquitoes

came for a few days, and the hotel itself is nice enough, however, there are an absurd number of mosquitoes. we understand that the hotel cannot entirely help this, but do think they should do more to prevent the amount in the rooms, e.g spraying the rooms when cleaned. we have killed about 15 mosquitoes in an hour, and there are still more. if you hate mosquitoes this is not the place for me
