Spacious Hotel, Great Location – Just a Bit Worn

Overall, the hotel was quite nice—very spacious and well-suited for international travelers, which was a big plus since we were traveling with kids. The location is super convenient, and the rooms were generously sized. The beds were huge—easily big enough for three people to sleep comfortably, with room to spare for a fourth! The price is very reasonable, especially for what you get. Just keep in mind that the hotel is a bit dated and could use some maintenance. For example, the shower glass leaked a little, and the faucet knob wasn’t working properly. You do get a sense that the place is worn, but it still does the job—especially when all you want after a long day exploring the mountain parks is a comfy bed. As for the restaurant, the food was just okay. I ordered the spring chicken and was expecting a bit of white meat or at least a leg—but what I got was... well, the bottom of the chicken! 😄 My daughter’s spaghetti was also pretty mediocre. But again, it comes down to taste. All in all, the price matches the quality. It’s not perfect, but it works—especially for families on the go.

Very enjoyable stay

We really enjoyed our stay at the Pullman Zhangjiajie. Although a little dated the hotel is well Presented and maintained throughout. The hotel rooms and gardens are very nice and the staff friendly and helpful. We found our room very much to our liking and everything worked well. The hotel is very close to the entrance of the Wulingyuan East gate and town ammenities. We would like to make mention of Freya and Miko who went out of their way to assist us with a few issues we encountered ( not hotel related).

Disappointing stay at the Pullman Zhangjiajie.

If you are looking for luxury 5 star accommodation in Zhangjiajie this is not a wise choice . The hotel is old and outdated. The gym is dirty and half the equipment doesn’t work. The breakfast buffet caters for a mass crowd and there’s a lack of care and attention put into the food and it feels more like a school cafeteria. The only saving grace of this hotel is the friendly staff and the location ,as it is walking distance to the East gate of the national park.

Acceptable standards at the club rooms

I’ve read many reviews that this is a huge tourist hotel which needs renovations but is conveniently located. I was hesitant in booking but decided to book the club floor for better quality stay. Overall, I think this Pullman hotel meets most of the standards expected. Firstly, I think the staff are the most valuable and contributing factor in giving us a good stay. They are efficient, courteous, smiling, attentive and prompt. They help a lot in resolving or trying to resolve issues that arise in our stay (for instance renovation noise at night, noisy running water from the toilet) and they helped in assisting us in our visits to the national parks and other attractions. There are indeed lots of tourists staying at this hotel (the breakfast crowd can attest to that). Whilst the club is closed for renovations, they have opened their lounge area to club members for the usual happy hours etc except for breakfast where club members have to join the huge crowd (I think the hotel should think of some improvements there). The gym and swimming pool which we did not use look pretty good.
