Very disappointed!

We were went for our 40th wedding anniversary, and were very disappointed, the motel is very dated and has not been updated for a long time!! (apparently this is happening, so you should wait to go until then) Unfortunately we thought a superior room would have a view of the forest as it stated, but no it was a garden view out the front with all the road noise. (because it's a whindy road motorbikers like to ride around there on the weekends) Asked could I pay for a room with a view of the forest and was told that the resort was booked out!! When we had dinner that night the restaurant was very quiet for being booked out, upon asking the wait staff said the resort was very quiet??? The pool is one of the worst areas I have seen, nothing like the photos!! This place is very misleading not a resort to get away to as there is nothing to do there and you do not feel like staying in the very old musty rooms!! Reception staff were very unassuming, but the restaurant staff were good.

Special weekend getaway !

What a very pleasant surprise ! Perfect wedding anniversary weekend getaway. We live locally and were looking for something a bit special without travelling too far . Very quiet and tranquil , very clean and quite spacious room - had every we needed including a coffee machine , we loved sitting in the balcony just listening to nature having a glass of bubbles , the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was gorgeous- especially with the picture window looking out over the valley , very relaxing . We had a lovely dinner Saturday night in Mandy’s restaurant onsite , it’s not a huge menu but well executed none the less and a great wine list showcasing some fantastic Australian wines . We had a buffet breakfast included in our 2 night package , such a nice way to start the day and could not fault a thing . Cocktails by the fire place before dinner was also a lovely touch. All the staff were lovely and couldn’t do more to help with anything if they tried. We definitely had wonderful visit and will definitely be back !

Experience not exactly as we expected

The lodge is somewhat dated but still comfortable. Our room was clean and tidy on arrival however the bathroom sink became blocked when the inbuilt plug stuck closed. We pointed this out to the staff upon departure but they didn’t appear terribly concerned. The dinner food was nice but our order appeared not to have been placed initially and we subsequently had a 50minute wait from the time of ordering. The staff were responsive once aware of the error however instead of the stated 7 minute wait to receive our order it was more like 15 minutes.

Stay away - not as it seems

Set the scene. Wanted to take my wife away for a relaxing 3 nights overlooking Lakes and Forrest. We are both in our late 70's We arrived. Checkin was pleasant enough . Our room was close to reception but up 2 flights of stairs. No offer to take the bags to the room. Eventually got there. The room was clean. The view was of a covered metal walkway, other buildings in the complex - not the view of forest and lakes we were sold by luxury escapes - very disappointing. We upgraded to a superior room. One would have thought that would have meant a king bed - no- 2 queens , just what a couple need :-( When you lay on the beds, you can feel the springs in the mattress. About what one would expect from a mining donga. The fridge was/is in desperate need of a defrost. The shelves in the cupboards would be flat out being 300mm. No bathrobes and only 1 spare blanket (for 2 beds - go figure) We are yet to make up our mind if we cut our losses and go somewhere else for the remaining 2 days or stay. Bottom line STAY AWAY

Not Recommended – Feels Like a Set From a Budget Horror Movie

You know those films where the characters arrive at a run-down hotel or motel and you immediately think, “This looks sketchy”? That’s exactly the vibe this place gives off. We arrived shortly after lunch, around 1:30 PM, hoping to grab a bite to eat. No luck—the restaurant doesn’t open until 6 PM. Not the warmest welcome after a long drive. Our room (Room 6) had a strong musty smell and felt old and neglected. There appeared to be mould on the bathroom ceiling, and using the shower left more water on the floor outside than in the actual shower area. The restaurant’s music seemed to be stuck in a time warp—think Now That’s What I Call Music 54, circa 2003. The whole place feels dated and in desperate need of modernization. It’s hard to tell who the target audience is—maybe older guests, but even that seems like a stretch. During our stay, it looked like a few road workers were lodging there. I had seen photos of a pool online before booking, but never found it during our stay. Maybe it’s hidden away, but it definitely wasn’t obvious. Breakfast was average at best: standard cooked items, cereal, fruit, etc. What caught me off guard was that you have to pay extra for a proper coffee—strange, even if you’re not a coffee drinker. We paid $179 via Groupon, which in hindsight felt about $100 too much. Wi-Fi is capped at around 4GB download and 4GB upload, and you’ll need it because mobile signal is nearly nonexistent. Would I recommend staying here? Definitely not—at least not until the place gets a serious facelift.
