I stayed in Ibis Bata for a couple of weeks and I enjoyed every bit of my time there. The staff were friendly and the room were cleaned every day. It was always exciting to try the special menu for the day

I enjoyed my stay at Ibis Bata, but I found food too expensive. It would be good if the hotel can lower the prices of food. I have to eat outside most of the time, and I think this is a lost to the Hotel.

I was in Room 331. It has a big bed, TV, a big desk with a chair, small sofa built into the wall, closet, in-room safe, fridge, AC and full-length mirror. The bathroom has a shower but no bath. The hair dryer was slow, so I used my own. The room was practically identical to the room I had had at the ibis in Malabo. As in Malabo, the Wi-Fi here is bad, so you need a lot of patience to do anything more complicated than sending or receiving text-only messages. The restaurant was good, but when I had dinner many options on the menu were not available. The hotel is handy to the central city. I had a guide and driver, so didn’t go out walking by myself, but the hotel is within walking distance of various interesting things (such as the cathedral) for anyone who is walking around.

While I am desperately trying to consider where I am, this place just continued to disappoint again and again. Expected more from an ibis, no matter where in the world. The bed felt damp, there was no vanity mirror with a socket nearby so couldn’t use hair irons, coat hangers are cheap cast offs and not numerous enough, the bedroom floor was very sticky, the coffee machine in restaurant is either empty of milk and/or coffee, the menu is misleading (stated “pizza, pasta, grill” on the cover but nope, no pizza), you only get to choose 2 of the burger accompaniments which isn’t stated in the menu and contrary to the mouthwatering picture lavished with all accompaniments, the chicken burger was soggy processed and grey. the menu as whole is not appealing, I think the staff try hard and were pleasant enough, but they could do with loads more training (imho). So disappointed, the little things just kept adding up.

This is a functional Ibis Hotel, not the Ritz Carlton so don't expect it. The rooms are basic but clean and my experience was good. The elevator was out of service which was not a problem but could have been for disabled people. The food was quite good and the beer and bar service was also good. The staff were what made the hotel, they were pleasant and tried very hard to speak good english for my uncultured ways, and I was very thankful for that. West Africa can be a harsh place if you don't have your man pants on, but this place made it worth while. Thank you for trying.
