I was arrived at Taiyuan’s airport after 11:20 pm, waited there (hotel shuttle buses station 7) for one hour, no shuttle bus came. There is no phone number list at airport. I was running around and no help. I was took taxi to the hotel. The hotel front desk didn’t care.

A very good hotel at the Taipei airport

A few days ago I stayed for two nights at the Taipei Airport Novotel in a very comfortable, large suite. The clerks at the front desk were very personable, efficient, and spoke rather good English, an important consideration for someone from the USA who knows nothing more than “thank you” in Chinese.

The hotel has a very large, buffet-style restaurant on the main floor which is open for breakfast and lunch. (I’m not sure about dinner since I never went for that.) At both mealtimes there is an assortment of both western and Chinese cuisine. The food, both styles, was quite tasty. There are several chefs standing behind the large hot food prep area. I believe that they can cook some dishes or soups to order, but I never tried that. There is very ample seating and waitresses promptly whisk used plates away. There are also desserts available, including self-serve Haagen Dazs ice dream. I believe there is another restaurant, but I did not try it. The suite itself was quite ample in size. My king bed was extremely comfortable and had good pillows. The bathroom is also very large with both a tub, a separate huge shower, a toilet (in a separate glassed cubicle), and a double sink. The one problem I found with the bath is that its faucet did not direct the water INTO the tub, but onto the very wide lip of the tub. By the time I discovered that, I had a large amount of water on the floor. I sopped it up as best as I could and housekeeping came up promptly to clean it up more thoroughly. Apparently, at least in my suite, one can only fill the tub using the hand-held wand which is rather slow. The shower is probably a better choice. The water gets quite hot and the pressure is strong with the handheld shower device, With the large rainfall showerhead, it works fine, but, because of its size, the pressure is only moderate; there is a separate shower wand which, being smaller, has very good pressure. There were plenty of towels and also washcloths. I found the room to be very quiet and really did not hear hall sounds. Then again, I may have been exhausted from the 16 hour flight with 2 hours of sleep. Anyway, I slept! Since I do not drive, I used the hotel’s airport shuttle to get back to the airport. It leaves on the half hour and takes only 5 minutes to drop you off at the terminal. To GET the shuttle FROM the airport, though, one has to be careful. While it picks up in the general section that says hotel shuttles, the pickup spot is NOT exactly where the the airport signage indicates; it is about 100 ft away. Not far at all, but you could miss being picked up. I was, so I took a taxi for only a few dollars anyway. Overall, my experience at the hotel was really good and, were I ever flying in to Taipei again, I would stay at the Novotel once more.

Not really… but good food.

Booked this place for a swift 24 hours fly-in-fly-out. Airport shuttle service is efficient, though only by schedule (not upon request) and only every 30 minutes during rush hours. Check-in was quick but no one took my card details resulting in having to pay directly to every service provided (eg room service,…) which was super inconvenient and time consuming. Room itself was okay yet a bit dated, I was missing a bathrobe and slippers in my size. No amenities in the bath at all. TV limited to 6 international news channels. Not much for an airport hotel. Room service was quick, efficient and delicious. That’s definitely the best part of the stay. I requested a late check-out. It was granted for an hour (ridiculous). So I paid for a day room, but again was pressed by the receptionists to come down and pay upfront. That interrupted my day again and was -to my opinion- absolutely unacceptable. So, well- it is an airport hotel- as such quite convenient, but the staff is badly trained and the rooms dated. Feedback given to the GM was received but no interest shown.

Convenient for Airport, Good Shuttle service and lovely swimming pool

Ultra convenient hotel for the airport which was ideal for our early morning flight. Used the shuttle bus service which was really quick and efficient. Very modern and cleverly designed bedrooms with usual facilities. Swimming pool was excellent and ideal for both lap and leisure swimmers.

Perfect Place Close to the Airport

One of the best hotel places closes to TPE Int'l airport. The room was clean and large enough area if need to follow up on any work for business trip. Also available buffet and formal restraunt.
