I booked a one night stay at the Novotel Porto Alegre airport hotel in a superior double room. Due to a change in my circumstances, I had to cancel my booking. In return, I got a voucher from Accor to make a new booking at the hotel. I then contacted the hotel to book a new date and got confirmation that everything was fine for the new booking date. They even mentioned that the booking was already fully paid. A few days later, I sent an email to the hotel and got the same confirmation. Upon checking in at the hotel, I was asked for my address and phone number. Well, I am Accor Gold member and all my details should have already be in the system. I found this very odd. Also, I was not offered the welcome drink that I usually get for being an Accor Gold member. I was given a room with twin beds when I had booked a double room. I did not ask to change rooms as I would leave very early in the morning. During the night, someone tried to break into my room. I woke up to someone saying "oh, there is someone in this room already". I'm not sure if the person actually managed to get into my room as I was half asleep. Anyways, it took me another half an hour to fall asleep again and I had a super early flight. On checking out, I was told that I was checked in under someone else's name (the other guest had the same first name but different surname). How that happened, I don't know, as I provided my ID card upon checking in. The receptionist asked if I had paid for my stay and I said I was given a voucher to pay for that stay. I forwarded the voucher to the email address provided by the receptionist and left the hotel to catch my flight. A few hours later I got a few emails asking for payment. I think I sent the voucher I got from Accor a few times to the hotel staff. The next day, I finally got confirmation that everything was fine and my stay was paid for. All in all, given that this is a Novotel and that I am an Accor Gold member ( I usually stay at Accor hotels during my business and leisure travels), I feel that the whole experience was a disaster. I will probably reconsider switching to a different hotel brand / loyalty program for my travels next time.

Good installation, nice staff, excellent breakfast (special note to the Pao do Chefe) and clean room. The transfer to POA is great, fast and cozy. Only disappointment was the cod fish served at dinner, I was expecting salty dried cod fish and the meal as made of a fresh cod fish, not as tasty...

This was my third time at this hotel and most likely not the last one. The room is clean, spacious, and despite being located close to an airport and busy streets, it is very quiet. The food selection for the breakfast is very good, for adults and kids.

Our maid staff are very attentive and dedicadet, clean rooms is our highest priority. The hotel was built soundproof which guarantees a very quiet place and a great sleep. The hotel is very beautiful. The reception, restaurant, swimming pool and room was looking new and very clean.Also the employees were very attentive and helped me with all my requests.I did an online check in and requested a baby crib and when I arrived it was there on the room.The food of the restaurant was taste and the breakfast is delicius.

Good location, but terrible services

Despite the good location, and past excelent services at Novotel Aeroporto Porto Alegre, at this time the services were terrible. The sink at appartment was clogged (wich was fixed at next day), there was a water leak from the bathroom to the bedroom, which accumulated after each shower (not solved). The mini fridge was not working, leaving all the drinks at room temperature - this issue was not fixed, even after replacing the mini fridge... After all, it was a good location for my purposes, and a short stay. But I´ll better evaluate if I´ll repeat another stay at this hotel.

Great for early morning flights, right next to the airport. Clean and comfortable. Good quality sleep and nice pre-breakfast coffee, juice and snack for departures before breakfast is served at 6AM. I will be back here

Great hotel bu the airport, good structure. Well equiped fitness center as well pool and sauna. The restaurant has some options anda the room service is very quick. Room was clean, cozy and with some amenities. They also have a transfer to the airport by demand, which is very convenient.

Nice hotel with efficient staff and good food in the lobby restaurant. Great experience with the shuttle, just call the hotel once you have your luggage and they come in 5 minutes to pick you up. There is a very nice pool and sauna, but we did not use it. Recommended for overnight stay; do not open windows because of pollution. Not sure if there is transportation downtown.

The Hotel has the international worldwide Novotel standard. Very good value, excellent sleep and cleanliness room conditions, in a good location. The only bias was in the breakfast: The time to fry some eggs was over 20 minutes. In a Business Hotel?

There are a big manufactory plant behind the hotel.....I could not sleep after 5:00 am......The staff of hotel tell me " The windows have a breaking sounds"......But this is not true. I hear all noise all night long....

Room is good, reception personel is kind and very prestative in solving your issues, altough they did not find at my reservation the breafast deal, it was included as per email received when confirmed the reservation. Breakfast is also ok, as well the room, amenities and bed and linens.

I recommend this option, because the location it is great. The hotel is very clean, have good food, and the crew is very considerate. The price is compatible with the service offered and you will have a great accommodation.

No surprises (good or bad) on this stay. Efficient check-in/out, good bedroom/bathroom, good breakfast. Gym is nothing special. Price is adequate. Minor hiccup: TV remote control was missing on the second day (supposedly they had to fix or change batteries, which I find odd as it worked fine the night before). Took a little time to replace it, but nothing critical.

The stay was excellent! Good service employee! Clean rooms and well comfortable! The hotel is very near of the Aeroporto Internacional Salgado Filho - Porto Alegre/ Brazil - airport. Great shuttle service.

The hotel is very close to the airport and easy to arrive. The staff is cordial, but the hotel could be better. The maintenance of the rooms are poor. Breakfast starts at 6am, so if you have an early flight, no bother to the include it. Overall... potential, but need better maintenance.

I like the Novotel Porto Alegre because its facilities are clean and comfortable. The cafe of the Novotel morning is simply sublime and makes my stay is very good. May I also comment on the heated pool which is excellent.

I am staying at this hotel every two weeks , and noticed that the last six months there has been a decline in service quality . Room cleaning is not good. Bath amenities are now smaller . The maintenance of the rooms is poor . And to complete , now the parking is paid.

Stayed at the Novotel Aeroporto in Porto Alegre with my wife and kids (3,6) two times. Before and after a long trip with my family to USA (8.12 and 27.12). Both times the experience was awful. The first time I had to ask 4 times to have the kids bed made. And when the guy came to set it up he was extremely impolite, as was the girl in the front desk when I called for the fourth time. There were only two towels fort whole family to share in the bedroom and no towels whatsoever in the pool area. Finally, my wife had to beg for the welcome drink (since I am a platinum member). But only regular beer or a glass of bad wine is offered. No other drink was available. But the second time was even worse. When I entered the lobby I noticed that the temperature was very hot, like outside hot. In Porto Alegre the summers are extremely hot. So I asked during the check in if the air conditioning was working. The girl said tha it was fine. When I got to my room It was hot. I assumed It was because the air conditioning was off. So I turned it on and left for the pool. This time also there weren't enough towels in the pool area. When I came back to my room the air conditioning was still not working. I went personally to the front desk and politely asked what the problem was. The girl not politely responded that there really was a problem but that the problem was fixed. Fool I was to believe her. Now it's 4 in the morning and me and my family are all awake because of the unbearable heat. Not only the air conditioning is not working properly but I was lied to twice. That is unacceptable. Those are not the standards I'm used to in my life. To make things worse we really needed I good night sleep because we had 26 hours of travel coming from LA. REALLY DISAPPOINTED! Counting the minutes to leave this property to never come back.
