I searched and booked a last minute much needed break within an hour of my home. I love outdoor swimming so the amazing 27’ temperature beautiful pool below Box Hill with fab facilities and lifeguards was a treat! My room was simply gorgeous and spacious and I slept so well for three nights in peace and comfort. The staff were such fun, friendly and helpful. Though the summer student staff can be a bit 21st C - like you know - ‘You alright?’ when approaching the bar; or trying to take my plate when I’m still eating etc etc. My star rating is 4 as us guests could have done with a little more guidance at Reception and in the restaurant - the breakfast is wonderful (and note - is totally help yourself - but you can order cooked to order if you spot the tiny menu pinned to the wall) and be aware to add credit to your check in card (I wasn’t advised) or you discover it’s pay as you go. Also, if you book something at reception, it may not reach the restaurant. I lost two hours of my life waiting for cream teas - part of my package. But these are small wriggles for the most fantastically located beautiful old hotel steeped in history, friendly cosy vibes from staff and guests, and the mind body soul sanctuary I was seeking. I recommend and I will be back :-)

Amazing, awesome, incredible are the only words to describe our experience at Mercure, Burford Bridge, Dorking, Surrey. We were met at our car as we pulled up by, Karima the most friendly human being I have ever met. The waiters in Emlyn; the hotel restaurant; Eden, Ollie and Jake were unbelievably friendly, helpful and yet professional. However, I was most impressed with Ellie, the housekeeper looking after our floor. She was exceptional. We will not only recommend, Mecure, Box Hill, Dorking to all our friends, but are signed up to the brand for life.

Thank you for leaving such a wonderful review of our hotel and team, all of my colleagues will be delighted especially those you encountered directly. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

The staff were lovely but the hotel cost £209 for one night, which I felt was extremely overpriced but we booked the hotel as we were attending a wedding in the barn. The hotel has no lift or gym although the pool was lovely. My main complaint was the food the breakfast, the eggs, tea, bacon were all cold and the sausages were tepid. The food we had in the evening was also stone cold, very disappointing.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thought on your recent experience. I am sorry you did feel you received value for money, our rates include VAT 20%, booking fees, breakfast for two persons, parking, use of the pool and the comfort of your chosen room for up to between 2pm and midday the next day. I'll be sure to share your comments with our chefs so that they may monitor the temperatures of buffets a little more closely.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Burford Bridge hotel this week. Every member of staff was a credit to the hotel including reception and the breakfast staff were Especially hard working and lovely. Thank you also to housekeeping who maintained our room beautifully. The swimming pool was a lovely treat on a hot, sunny day. Breakfast was good in the lovely Dining room and our Room (300) was very nice. The downstairs, restaurants bar and reception rooms are very tastefully decorated. This hotel has the potential to be a wonderful place with a little more updating and TLC e.g new bathrooms, better quality carpets ….and new, more comfortable sun beds. Could be made into a real haven not far out of London. Boxhill is stunning and great pubs and places to eat not far from the hotel, deep in the Surrey countryside e.g Running Horses and Smith and Western. We would recommend it and it was good value, hence very good but it could be great ! Thank you so much for a nice stay !

What a lovely overnight stay. Used the facility before checkin and all the next day. Staff very helpful and polite. The grounds are so well kept and the outdoor pool a real bonus. The only down side was our room as it was very small even for a basic room it was incredibly tiny. Very difficult to even walk around the bed. A visit to the bedroom in the dark required putting the light on if you didn’t want to lose your toes. But apart from that one negative ( I will make sure I don’t book the basic room) I would definitely stay again as everything else more than made up for the room .
