Why don’t they use a toast master at the hotel for weddings? Makes the whole day much more organised and every thing runs much more smoothly. Lovely hotel in a great setting. Used to have a great Boxing Day buffet

Eleanor and the team at Burford Bridge were incredible! They listened to exactly what we wanted, were flexible when it came to our requests and the day ran so smoothly! We have had several compliments and comments about how well the day went and how impressed people were with the service and professionalism of staff. The barn is stunning and has so many different ways to style it. The barn has its own barn and entrance, separate to the main hotel, which keeps the event private and contained. This was perfect for us too as it was a rainy autumn day so this meant all our guests could stay inside and move easily from the bar to the barn. There are plenty of seating options in the barn and space! We had 130 guests for the meal and 50 extra evenings guests which fitted comfortably. The food was incredible and service was quick. The evening buffet was yummy and there was plenty of food for all guests. I would recommend to anyone looking for a wedding reception venue!

This beautiful hotel is a perfect location for visiting my family in Ashtead. Right at the base of Box Hill so great for walkers and cyclists, if you like hills! Tasty breakfast with lots of choice. Room well equipped and comfy bed. Loved the bar and lounge area Highly recommend.

Another great stay at this fabulous hotel . Prior to booking they were really helpful. Easy check in . Car parking was fine . Room was nice , clean and roomy with two nice easy chairs . Two lovely windows overlooking the grounds , one of which was a patio window out onto a small balcony . Weather didn't permit us to use it which was a shame . All the staff were great . Ate in the restaurant on our first night and couldn't fault the food . Only slight niggle might be that there wasn't an abundance of vegetarian options but I was fine . Breakfast on the morning was ok . Once again not blindingly obvious if there were veggie alternatives. And as is the same in many hotels with a self service breakfast , you can spend a lot of time wandering around searching for stuff . Coffees just around the corner etc . The young lady in charge of the breakfast maybe could have done with a bit more customer service training . Bit more of a smile and a generally happy tone when answering questions would have been nice . I'm sure with some more training she would be great . Tried room service on our second night which worked well . The lounge and bar areas are really nice and relaxing . I think another comment on here mentioned lack of staff and I think we did notice this . It seems to be the way the service industry is going nowadays so not just confined to this hotel . I'd definitely stay again and would highly recommend it to others .

Nice location, older property so interior was a little tired in places. Cracked bathroom sink. However, on checking in, informed that breakfast was from 06.30. This was good theoretically as I needed to be away at 07.00 the next morning on business. 06.30 next morning, breakfast buffet nowhere near ready. Told to sit down by restaurant staff as they were evidently still setting up. Ignored then for a further 10 - 15 mins by which time breakfast was non viable as I had to get away. Took banana and yogurt for the road. (no spoon - nightmare !) Don't tell guests that breakfast is from 06.30 if this is not the case. Won't be staying again. Sluggish service.
