We booked a Nile view and this view was excellent. The hotel is centrally located and walkable to Tahrir square. Breakfast has numerous options. Check in was a little slow, considering I had already completed online checkin. The 'free welcome drink' was not available as the restaurant was closed downstairs. The minibar is a complete rip-off however. The snacks and drinks are unreasonably priced and you can get them for a fraction of the cost in a shop outside. They then add 3 different taxes on the already inflated price. Utterly ridiculous.

Fantastic hotel

What a great experience for my birthday week to stay in this hotel. The location is next to Cairo tower, the opera house and near the Old Egyptian museum. There's also the floating restaurant, the Blue Nile and the Nile City which are both highly recommended for a fantastic dinner. The food are delicious and reasonably priced. The Novotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly and made my stay even more special which made me want to come back again soon. A surprise birthday cake from the hotel was nothing but highly appreciated and commendable. Special thank you to Ahdam and Nada from the reception, the housekeeping staff, restaurant staff and even the security team who were all respectful and polite to make me feel at home. Lastly, there's an onsite tour operator, Respect Tours, who has been instrumental in ensuring that | get to see the best of Egypt. Special mention to drivers Abdullah and Adbel for their driving skills and the VIP treatment, Ashraf from the booking team and most of all Ayman who managed to book me a last minute ticket for the Nile dinner tour after the let down from the booking.com arrangement despite the confirmation. The cost of the tour was very reasonable and straight forward. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.
