Stay for the location, not for the amenities :/

For someone that enjoys the proximity to the city centre & central locations, this property certainly checks the box.. and next to staff courtesy, everything good stops short (and this coming from an Accor ALL member!) Despite being put up in a so-called 'superior' category room (view from room in pic attached), the amenities were anything but.. toiletries/basics were skim (no moisturizer even), room slippers only provided in 'higher' room categories, no iron/board in room for safety reasons (although I've seen this provision in other properties as well, so not too surprised) and housekeeping was non-existent at times, when on 1-2 days, room was not even cleaned or replenished, with 0 effort to even try otherwise. For a similar (or lower) price, you're probably better off choosing Ramada next door, which offers a similar room, but with all of the amenities missing at Mercure, including much better breakfast offering :)

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my daughter whilst visiting the Xmas markets. The location of the hotel is perfect as walking distance to all the markets and also the river Danube . Check in was quick , rooms adequate for a city location and the hotel well maintained. We had breakfast included which was plentiful , fresh and a variety of choices . The hotel has a nice bar . Overall a nice hotel with everything in close proximity.

We have just come back from this hotel after a long weekend in Budapest, and we chose this because of its location. Which is 10/10 when it comes to the location, it is near the bus stop from the airport shuttle, close to the Christmas market and close to the Danube and other restaurants. When first entering the hotel it looks stunning and it is, all warm and charming. The staff were very friendly on check in and check out and they helped us with our bags in storage. Check in was easy. The reason for the score was due to the cleanness of the hotel, the main parts of the hotel were fine but the carpet in our room was dirty with marks on it, the lamp next to the bed also had marks on it, not very good at all. We went to breakfast which is the usual in City centre hotels but where we sat by the front door there was a ledge and it was thick in dust as well as some food bits, something you don't want to see in a food area. Staff in the restaurant were also too triggy happy to take your cups and plates, as in just as you had finished it was taken. I would stay for the location and the reception staff.

A perfectly fine short stay hotel reminiscent of an airport hotel. The room was clean, the people friendly and the location great. The room was small, overly warm with the window being open the only way to cool things down, then noisy if you did this.

Room excellent, clean, warm and comfortable! Cleaning staff efficient & quick. Breakfast was tasty, lots of it and the breakfast room staff ever ready to help. We’ll be returning. The reception staff were extremely helpful, had fantastic English skills and booked all our excursions for us. Top marks to Mercure.
