We are on tour and this was hotel chosen by company. First night was good - seem to be short staffed. The Second night we came back from being out most of the day. Our duvet seemed damp. We were heading back out and reported this to front desk. They said that they would check while we were out. Came back around 8:30 pm. Still feels damp so went back down to front desk. They said it seemed fine but would look for another duvet. No where in entire hotel do they have another duvet or blanket. Did absolutely nothing about situation other than say sorry. Very disturbing to me that they just left it that we sleep with a damp cover. Customer service totally lacking. For what this hotel runs I would choose elsewhere.

Good location, beautiful hotel, amazing staff, comfy beds and delicious food

This hotel is in a beautiful old building, high ceilings and with a big old style staircase. I love it! Personally I think the location is great. While not directly in the city center, you’re very closeby. The hotel is located directly above the red metro line and in front of the hotel are multiple busses and trams so you can reach any place in the city quickly. It was also very quiet inside in the hotel, no outside noises. Some evenings (maybe all?) there was also a pianist playing in the lobby bar/restaurant, very nice. Things started off a bit less good though, with a shower issue (which in itself was working fine, just the hose wasn’t long enough, so even there’s a holder higher up on the wall, I still had to hold it when washing my face/hair). In the morning I informed the very kind front desk which assured me this would be fixed. Upon returning in the evening this sadly wasn’t the case. The same front desk staff was still there and he too was surprised to find out it wasn’t fixed. This was eventually resolved the next day by moving to a different room (same category room, difference is this new room had only a shower and no bathtub). Here the shower was perfect, a big rain shower. The other room amenities were the same, such as the very comfortable twin beds, big TV and an AC unit that we could adjust to warm up the room to our desired temperature. Breakfast was included in my room rate and there’s plenty to choose, from sweet to savory. I loved that this hotel had more traditional (thin) pancakes and not those small but thick ones that often guests make themselves with a pancake machine. Fresh orange juice was available upon request and the hotel even had champagne available every morning we were staying here! We also had dinner twice and that was very good too. Both meal services were staffed by the most helpful and kind staff. The employees in general went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. Everyone is very kind, from front desk to breakfast and bar/dinner team. Even with the shower issue we initially experienced, I would for sure stay in this hotel again on my next visit to Budapest as the positive aspects outshine this one (and also corrected) negative. It shows the hotel is doing what they can to ensure their guests have a memorable stay. 10/10 to the team in this hotel. And a big shout out to the team members we encountered during our stay: Alexandra (Szandi) and János from the breakfast/dinner service, Nora from front desk, Fanny and another gentlemen from the front desk (but I forgot his name). Accor/MGallery, treasure these employees: they are what makes guests want to come back 😊

The Nemzeti is one of the MGallery Boutique hotels of Accor. it is located right in the middle of the public transport connection hub Blaha Luiza Ter in the very center of Budapest. I found a very well maintained hotel with a dedicated polite and professional team both in at the reception and at the restaurant. The impecable cleanliness of the rooms gives a good feeling. The historic background of the hotel, mindfully displayed in a mini-museum in the lobby, gives the guest an insight in the very interesting history of the house. Beyond these objective remarks on the hotel: I am so happy that I eventually found the only and one post-Covid working sauna in an Accor house in Budapest. If not the impecable service at the reception, at the bar and in the restaurant and the central location, then at least the sauna alone is for me definitely a very strong reason to return. Excellent hotel, will be back for sure.

From the moment we stepped in the lobby we noticed how spacious this hotel is. Our room was 316 and could be accessed by the lift or grand staircase. Our room was extremely pleasant, with tea and coffee making facilities, ample wardrobe space and a safe. The bathroom was compact, however, it had a bath with overhead shower. The only downside was the limited space especially when getting out of the tub. As for the bed, well it most certainly didn't disappoint, the most comfortable bed we have slept in. Breakfast was included with our booking and the variety was varied, allowing us to have a good start to the day. All of the staff were pleasant and very helpful. From here we could easily navigate our way to the highlights that Budapest has to offer. Personally having stayed in Budapest before we would highly recommend this hotel. Just wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful Belle Époque hotel

Truth in advertising - we are regulars of Accor properties. So while we may be, in general biased towards them compared to other international hotel groups, we are also more judging of them. Having said that, we were VERY happy with our recent stay at the Nemzeti. It is a beautiful Belle Époque property that nicely crosses over to modern amenities. The staff were VERY helpful with all interactions and we thoroughly enjoyed the meals we had there (breakfast, lunch, and dinner on one day or another) with a very good selection of Hungarian wines (and very well priced. This was the second MGallery property we have stayed in (the first being in Prague) and we will definitely be looking for them in future travels as they offer so much more than a good bed ... I don't think I have ever been as overwhelmed by staircases as I have here! One thing to warn you about is the location. First of all, you ARE in a safe neighborhood, it just lacks some of the panache you would find closer to the river or on the other side near the Bastion. Having said that, it is a relatively easy walk from the hotel to the Jewish Quarter and also to the train station.
