We had a pretty short stay. Late arrival and we had to leave early. Everythinh ok. Good bed, good shower, friendly staff, conveniently located, parking next to the hotel, centre Kortrijk easily accessible. Fair price. Breakfast available but we had to leave early so we can t judge that.

We were looking to stay somewhere in Kortrijk for a couple of days while our son was taking part in an event nearby. This hotel seemed to fit the bill. First the good parts: the location is great, the town of Kortrijk is very pleasant and the reception was welcoming and recently renovated. But the room wasn't up to standard. It was very tired, the bathroom was smelly and the lights took forever to come on. There was also quite a lot of noise from within the hotel. I won't be staying here again, and it has put me off booking an Ibis again any time soon.

We stayed at the hotel as part of a group travelling into Lille for the Rugby World Cup. The location was great, central to the town, the train station and cafe culture in abundance! The reception, bar and lounge area in the hotel were nice and welcoming, but the corridors to the rooms need a bit of TLC, they feel like you’re in an office building. Our room was large and the decor was okay … basic … but okay. The bathroom in particular could have used a little maintenance. The towels had seen better days and were literally threadbare and tattered at the edges. Room was clean however, and the bed was comfortable. We had a room looking out on to the square, great view! However, we noticed some ear plugs on the desk … we needed them. There are some bars a few doors up and they were open to the early hours with lots and lots of noise, low bass music, shouting, screaming etc including motorbikes, loud cars revving and traffic noise. The windows seemed like they did nothing to filter any of the sound. So, if this is a make or break for you, make sure you don’t have a room in that part of the hotel. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful with lots of fresh cold and hot food, cereals, pastries etc. Overall it was fine, rough round the edges for sure, but served it’s purpose.

Good value and well situated hotel

Well situated close to the Grote Markt, railway station and adjacent car park. Our rooms were ready early, allowing a fairly full day of opportunity at the beginning of our 3 night stay. Room provided all we needed, perhaps except for a little more 'hanging space' and was quiet with comfortable beds. Bathroom was well appointed. Reception staff were exceptionally efficient, helpful and friendly, and importantly were happy to receive an important letter and pass it on to me. The bar was part of reception area and a nice place with a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy a last drink on an evening. I was disappointed that the hotel chain have gone with the trend of not including breakfast as a matter of course, and the cost of breakfast would be a considerable increase when travelling on a budget. We took the coffee and croissant deal instead, but unfortunately 2nd morning they were 'out of croissants' so we used an excellent local boulangerie subsequently. The car park next to the hotel was €12 per 24hrs, plus whatever overlap you had. Fantastic Monday market a few yards away.

Disappointing experience

My partner and I travelled to Ibis Kortrijk on the way back from the alps for a few night. When we arrived, the reception were polite and informative which we appreciated greatly. We were given a room card on the third floor, the corridors were dark and outdated making it an unpleasant feeling. Our room was no better, photos online of the rooms are very misleading and after we paid over £200 for 2 nights, we were not happy with the room considering we were shown different photos of our room when booking. We went back to reception and asked to upgrade our room, in the end we ended up spending £220 for 2 nights which is obscured for an ibis hotel. We also paid an additional €20 for late departure (17;00 instead of 12;00) as we had a late euro tunnel to catch. The following morning, the breakfast was okay. The yoghurt was all curdled, there were flys on the food and fresh food wasn’t brought out regularly. Once the fruit in the clear container was done, they didn’t bring more out?? The bread and meat however was lovely. But this area needs improvement. The room key cards also disactivated themselves so frequently. We would go out to explore, come back and doesn’t work on the room, so we made numerous trips to and from reception getting this sorted. Parking was near the hotel, but at an underground car park. No street parking nearby. For 2 nights in the hotel, parking cost us €55. €55 for parking, €240 for the hotel including late departure in means almost €300 for 2 nights at an ibis!!!!! The bed was comfy, but the towels in the bathroom were big enough to cover 1 leg, let alone a whole body. The bathrooms were also not particularly clean which again is such a shame, these are such small things to get right! Finally when we came to departure, it came to 12;00 and we had people knocking on the door waking us up as we were trying to get final bits of sleep before a long journey to say we need to leave and we had explained we weren’t checking out until 5. We then go back to bed and at 12;30 reception called saying we’re 30 mins late from checkout???? We had paid the additional €20 for late checkout and this should’ve been communicated and added to the system as we were woken up twice from this which again isn’t on. Overall a pretty disappointing stay. Save your money and go elsewhere!!
