Clean well run budget hotel very close to Arena

Budget hotel 5 mins walk from Sheffield Arena. It goes without saying that this will be fully booked when there's a big event on at the Arena and the prices go up so book early. 40 on site parking spaces that were all full by 2pm so arrive early. Room was as expected for a budget hotel, very basic and small but everything worked, the room and public area clean and tidy, but the thing that made this a 5 out of 5 for me were the fantastic staff who were friendly and efficient. Don't forget if you encounter grumpy hotel reception staff it's probably because they have been dealing with hundreds of demanding customers during peak times. It's great for the Arena but remember it's NOT a luxury hotel.

Stayed here for one night having been to the arena. I was a little bit worried after reading some of the reviews. Although the room was a little small it was very nicely presented. Everything was spotlessly clean. Even though there wasn’t a wardrobe there were hangers to hang your clothes up on a small rail. We used the room service which was good. The reception area was nice and bright and the staff were very friendly. I will definitely book here again if we’re were going to the arena.

So very very budget! Check in was very simple mainly concentrating on if you’d paid or not. There was no working lift the twin room was very similar styling to hostel rather than a hotel. The walls in my room were dirty and marked there was coffee stains on the ceiling? The carpets in the corridors were stained and need replacing. I paid to have breakfast at the premier inn across the road as the ibis breakfast (which is only very basic continental) looked so unappetising. The whole place needs a refurbishment I won’t be back.

I’m baffled by some of the reviews that seemingly haven’t looked into what an Ibis budget is, then complained about everything outlined in the description of the booking 🤣 Absolutely fine stay 30/12. We were attending the Ice Hockey at the Arena, you couldn’t get any closer. No issue getting a car park space (£7 on arrival). Friendly check in and out. Both rooms clean and comfy. Basic as outlined in the description but ideal if you get a good price and somewhere to just rest your head. We went into the main city for food and an Uber was about £7-8. Would stay again for convenience next to the arena.
