Good for a short stay

We had a bit of fun finding the car park entrance as google maps was a bit slow meaning we ended up missing the right turn off, but made it eventually! The car park is in the basement and might be a bit tight for a bigger car but it is very secure. There was work going on in public area when we stayed so no bar or restaurant available however this wasn’t really a massive issue as we arrived late and were only there for the night. We stayed in a superior room which was basic but a decent size. Due to the time of year that we were there, the air con didn’t seem to be on and the room temperature was a bit too high for us - it was too noisy with the window open so this wasn’t ideal. There was however a very good black out blind and curtain which made for a good sleep. Location is great - right on the edge of the old town so everything is walkable. Good overall for a short stay.

Positives - I chose the hotel based on location as we arrived late afternoon and were leaving early the following morning. It was an easy walk to bars/restaurants. The bed was comfortable, shower large and powerful and breakfast was fine. The lady on reception was friendly and very kindly booked us a taxi to the airport. Negatives - Room itself was very basic and featureless. Towels very thin and poor quality. No space in room to relax, only the bed. Air-con did not work. Storage is an issue which is why I say it’s not suitable for a longer stay. There were only 6 hangers. No drawers for clothes/underwear, only 3 highly unsuitable round shelves as part of the hanging rail.

No food on xmas day or boxing day

Excellent location, good value, lovely staff and a breafast that is served until 12.00. This was our 3rd Xmas here but unfortunatley it will be our last. They used to serve food in the bar until 1100pm, which was really very handy if you heve been out all day and need a snack before bed, espically as my husband is diabetic and has to make sure that his sugar levels are high enough before he goes to sleep; in fact it was the main reason we returned to this hotel very year, however this year they did not serve ANY food on xmas day or boxing day (apart from brakfast). This was not mentioned on their web site and we only found out after we had checked in or else we would not have gone here. Very disapponting.
