Poor choice of Canberra hotels

Shabby and very in need of a total make over We try to stay at Accor hotels when travelling ,but this one is a big disappointment despite its beautiful gardens and location Only thing going for this hotel are the large bedrooms facing the courtyard and the friendly staff . Basic TV available so watched shows on iPad . Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues - maze of walkways to rooms . Difficult for even elderly with canes - had to carry own suitcases up the front steps to reception - no ramp Furniture in rooms in poor condition , very average breakfast and public areas empty and lack ambience A poor choice on my part for visiting Canberra for 3 nights ,and sorry to be critical but so many other options without being loyal to Accor .

Deeply regret staying here. The hotel is old old , ok it has history but it’s really shabby . You definitely need a car . The food is basic with no imagination. Staff on bar are clueless . They’ll shaft you into a rubbish room so watch out and complain. I feel sorry for a couple checking in in front of me who were on a luxury package travelling around. Oh dear . Luxury this is not . Shabby shabby shabby .

Good for a dog friendly visit to Canberra

This suited us for a dog friendly stay. The room was motel standard with some wear and tear, but was still comfortable and spacious and reasonably priced. The bistro was like a suburban pub, but was convenient with a covered outdoor area. The city and Lonsdale Street were an easy 10-15 min walk for other restaurants. The buffet breakfast had typical choices for a mid-range hotel - there was a nice lounge area in the historic part of the hotel next to the breakfast room where dogs were allowed, plus outdoor tables overlooking the garden. Gated outdoor parking was ok priced.

Just on outskirts on central area. Room was ok not very large and basic bathroom. Generally room and rest of hotel seemed a bit tired. Ate their one evening and to be honest offering was a bit disappointing (not bad enough to send back but would not entice me to repeat)

Hotel antiguo, con mucho pasillo para llegar a las habitaciones. hacía mucho frio en la habitación cuando llegamos, hay aire caliente/acondicionado. Parking gratuito, wifi gratuito en las habitaciones (Tienes que darte de alta en la cadena del Hotel previamente). Personal de recepción muy amable y colaborador. Bien situado entre el Monte Ainslie, el Memorial de Guerra Australiano y el centro de la ciudad, puedes ir andando a los dos sitios. Tiene dos restaurantes uno mas lujoso que no usamos y otro de batalla con un personal magnifico y muy amable, donde se come muy bien, a buen precio.
