I picked this hotel because of its location and yes, it has the ideal location for a tourist who wants to hit the highlights of Prague. No doubt about it. Unfortunately that is the only thing I can say positively about this place. I know it is an Ibis which is the bottom tier of the respected Accor group of hotels. With that I accept that the hotel offers 0 (zero) amenities (no coffee, no washcloth nor facetowels). But even at the bottom tier should have a decent cleanliness and courtesy. The bathroom smells sewer (really!) but we don’t so much complaining because we are in such tight timelines so we won’t have time to change room. The bed is only a meager layer of foam (it is called mattress top) on top of the box with pillows that are way overdue to get replaced. The room service also seemed to really eager to kick us out as she came twice to the room even before check out time without even knocking. Maybe I still have too high of expectations from the Ibis chain 😞

Spotlessly clean in good location

Some of the reviews put me off this hotel but I'm actually glad we chose it. Yes, the rooms are small and basic, but we couldn't fault the cleanliness and the beds were really comfortable. My only complaint was our room (207) overlooked a service road, and as we had the window open with it being warm, we were woken every night by loud trollies obviously delivering stuff. We had breakfast included and again no complaints. There was plenty of choice and the selection varied daily so you didn't get bored. We went for breakfast about 8:45 every morning and there was plenty of room, with tables cleared quickly when they were vacated. Staff were always pleasant both in the restaurant and on reception. Again, all public areas were spotless. What really made this hotel was the location. Its 5mins walk from the Powder Tower where many walking/bus tours start. Its about 10-15mins walk from Old Town Square, 20-30mins to Charles Bridge. There was also loads of bars and restaurants within a 10min walk and a large shopping mall with fast food restaurants in just next door. All in all, the perfect city break hotel.

City Break

Spent three nights at the hotel, great base, metro and tram stop just down the road. Typical Ibis room, clean, bed comfy, could have done with extra pillows, I'm sure if I had asked at reception, they would have provided them. Breakfast wasn't to our taste, very busy had to share a table with another couple on one morning. Would stay again. Prague is a lovely city so much to see.
