This hotel is pretty average and certainly not 4* - please check photos for confirmation of this! Very tired and in desperate need of an upgrade, particularly the rooms. The pools are nice but not massive however there always seemed to be sunbeds and towels available. We were there for two weeks in March 2024 celebrating our honeymoon and my 40th birthday and emailed the hotel to let them know, we received a lovely email back confirming the details would be noted on file. No extra touches received which I think is pretty poor for a chain as large as Mercure. Our room was located in the worst possible spot, right at the very back so no beach or pool views for us. Instead we overlooked the tennis court which was full of loud youths each evening so we never spent anytime on our balcony. The food & drink in resort is bland and overpriced. There are loads of restaurants in Sanur only a stone’s throw away offering much tastier, reasonably priced dining. I would NOT encourage anyone to dine within. We visited other areas and would highly recommend Nusa Lembongan. So peaceful, unspoilt and the accommodation (Ketut Losmen Bungalows) was amazing, at a fraction of the cost! Do your research and book in with accommodation that people actually recommend! Bali is beautiful and we hope to return but certainly not to Mercure!

We are currently staying at this hotel and I can honestly say its awful! I emailed the manager to voice our dissatisfaction but they haven't had the manners to respond. We're staying for 2 weeks, the staff are all lovely, but many things just aren't acceptable! Noisy building work right next to the main pool-we should have been warned about this! Last week the entire country shut down for 24 hours, meaning we had to eat in the hotel-frankly it was a fiasco! Orders written on serviettes or the waitresses hand, no room numbers taken half of the food never turned up, and coming to pay there was a huge que because people were disputing their bill! Gluten free bread ran out one breakfast so I had to go without. The only gf main course available was lamb! That's it! 1 single option! The AI bbq was simply vile! I couldn't eat it, so wasted my money. An injury meant the hotel Dr recommended I ice to reduce pain, rang room service and it never did arrive! Our room is "executive ", no-its extremely shoddy! The sea is murky and full of pollution, I certainly wouldn't advocate swimming in it. Do yourselves a favour and go to a restaurant elsewhere for meals. And we're still here for 2 more days!

Mercure Sanur has been my on and off home away from home in Bali. Once again it did not disappoint. For the price (which is extremely competitive) it offers great rooms, a nice location, nice pools and great staff. Don't expect 5 star luxury, since you're not paying for that. For what you pay, it is above average for a resort style property. At the time I was there, they were doing some much needed updates to roofs and common areas, so that is a good sign. The F&B in the hotel isn't great, but with the onset of Grab, Gojek and having so many eateries in the area, it is barely worth it for hotels to invest in top notch F&B anymore, and you see that all over Bali. Hotel has a great beach area, which is not that common in Sanur. Beach service can be a bit slow, but it's a 1 min walk to the beach bar (not part of the hotel). I agree with previous reviews that the beach pool being adult only would greatly benefit the stay for those without kids. To me, it feels like a old school resort, and I like that. So much so, that I am going back in April for 17 days and in July for 20 days. Best recommendation you can give a place.

The WORST I have ever booked. I booked one night for 6-7 March 2024 and fully paid, when I arrived at the hotel and asked for checking in at 23.00 and.... the reception said that all rooms were booked, so "no room" for me. And they had not try to prepare a room at the nearny area, the just called some hotels tried to find a room for me... the worst hotel ever!!! Finally they sent me to other area at Legian,40 minutes drive away at almost midnight... I arrived at the hotel Mercure Legian at midnight, what a nightmare.. I have to attend meeting at sanur at 8...so I must start from Legian early morning. The hotel staff at Mercure Sanur just said "sorry"... NO WAY.... no compensation at all for my difficulties.. The GM should traintgeir staffs to treat the customer especially a woman... in a good manner.. I hear that the case like me happened many times there... Not Mercure that I am loyal to stay..

Another very comfortable stay at the Sanur Mercure Hotel. Large, comfortable rooms and an excellent beachfront location. Yes, it is an older hotel but it is in the process of upgrades. The gardens are magnificent. We enjoy the buffet breakfasts and there is plenty of vatiety in the food offered. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is reasonably priced. There are a couple of excellent options for 'family accommodation'. We would not stay anywhere else in Sanur. It feels like 'home'.
