The location is great for a city hotel, next to Freiburg main station. The rooms are the standard Novotel variety, but look a little dated now. The air conditioning leaves much to be desired (the control unit in the room is for show only). Parking is ruinously expensive (€20 per night), as is breakfast (I'm not sure how many people would be willing to stump up €27 per person when they can get freshly-made, delicious bakery products (with seating) at the station opposite the road for a quarter of the cost. We found the staff unable to smile or help when there was a rush at check-in, but super-friendly otherwise. All in all, one takes it in one's stride as a business traveller as the company's paying, but as a leisure traveller we felt it to be just another revenue-maximising outfit for Accor, which as a chain has probably just grown too big to care.

Terrible services, not very pro-active staff at the reception. Terrible location, strange entities wandering outside especially during evening, not very safe environment.

We booked two rooms of which one was very hot and the air conditioning couldn't get the room at an acceptable temperature. Breakfast was bad, really bad and extremely overpriced (€27!!). No more Novotel for us. Didn't have the decency to react to our problems either.

Ageing 1990s style hotel in a central location. Hotel staff excellent. Rooms are dated and lack modern facilities you expect as standard No safe, only 1 spare plug socket, no sockets by bed. No USB sockets. No clothes storage drawers only wardrobe with single shelf high up. Parking expensive Worst was breakfast at €27 per person, really ??? Cleanliness of hotel is very good. Room was rear facing into a service area, very noisy early morning with rubbish collection and deliveries Will not stay here on next visit to Freiburg, too many better options. Location is main selling point. Hotel needs to up its game.

Always nice to be back, lots of lobby refurbishment were done! Always nice warm welcome by the staff Hotel is not the youngest but clean and sharp I love the Black-forest atmosphere, rooms are wide and practical Great Bar staff always ready for a chat and good service!
