We stay at El Gezirah Sofitel, Cairo this weekend (end NOV). Beautiful location over the Nile River with excellent service and staff are friendly. Rooms are clean and spacious. The Hotel also have a variety of their buffet meals cater for all guests. Will definitely stay there again and recommend for couples / families / friends.

Just returned from 4 day trip to Cairo. Sofitel El-Gezirah ist beautifully located on the south tip of Zamalek Island in the middle of the Nile river offering beautiful views of the river and the city on all sides. A location hard to beat! It offers the typical French inspired feeling paired with Egyptian hospitality and friendliness. Especially the Concierge staff Mohamed and Tarek were very helpful. They arranged for us a private full day tour of the various sights around Cairo, including the pyramids. The guide they provided us, Saeed Mokhtar, really was one of a kind. Sympathetic, funny and most of all extremely knowledgeable on the history of the old Egypt. He made the day absolutely unforgettable for us. Highly recommend!!!

The service is outstanding in every respect and of a very high standard. All the staff are very courteous, friendly and welcoming. The gym and wellness area (swimming pool, sauna and steam bath) are very inviting and clean. Here, too, the staff are very courteous. Both the breakfast buffet and dinner in the Le Sud restaurant are very tasty and of high quality. The service in the restaurant is very nice and courteous. If you have booked a room with a view of the Nile, the view is fantastic both during the day and in the evening. All in all, I can recommend this hotel.
