Splendid hotel though rather dated

Was at first rather hesitant to book this hotel given the mixed reviews I read here but the stay turned out to be way better than expected. For a start it is just less than 5 mins away from Nagoya station for anyone arriving into Nagoya by train and less than 10 mins walk to the train station that arrives from the airport. The hotel is indeed rather old from the decor of the lobby as well as the room. The room though rather old looking is clean and well sized by Japanese standard . The bathroom however is rather awkwardly designed that it is rather tight when trying the close the door. The room also comes with a good working table but the challenge is with the weak WiFi signal ! The bed is also low which means getting on and off the bed rather uncomfortable otherwise every thing is good for the room. The breakfast however was a disappointment was we would have chose to skip it ! Overall the location of the hotel would be the standout point for anyone who wants convenience .

The location was great. The hotel was a short walk away from the main train station and there were several restaurants and convenience stores nearby. We booked 2 Privilege Queen Rooms but got 2 Superior Rooms upon check in (the reception said they were the same). The rooms were clean and big for Japanese standards (25 sqm big), but looked dated. The queen beds were also small and low in height. The staff were friendly. But the hotel lobby was simple. And the bar was closed

the room rate is very expensive, not worth the money we paid

I paid for the most expensive Mercure hotel in the world but got very bad service. I paid 85920 yen for 2 nights, this is comparable to the price of a 5 star hotel. I didn't expect to get such bad service. In general, Mercure hotels are very good. I am a platinum member, I was thrown into a very small room with no view, I told a young receptionist, he said that was the price of my room. This is truly a Japanese scam. words spoken coldly without feeling guilty.

I visit mercure nagoy cypress with my daughter and stay during 3days. we are very satisfied about their kindness and comfort and clean service. we made decision when we visit nagoya we just stay in this hotel only

This is our first visit to Nagoya and Mercure is a pleasant and convenient choice. The main railway station is only a short walk away. The surrounding abounds with quality restaurants. The building may look dated from outside but room is neat, tidy and spacious. Staff is courteous and helpful. Highly recommend.
